Students call on Loudoun County School Board to restore girls-only, boys-only bathrooms and locker rooms

Of course they’re protesting about this despite not one trans student at Woodgrove using the other gender’s locker room. It’s simply not happening in great numbers anywhere but definitely not at Woodgrove at all.

Wow. That’s insane.

-- Purcellville poster here, yes, I remember that. My kids went to Valley.

Woodgrove draws from a wider swath of Western Loudoun. It's the last vestige of MAGA country in the county, possibly the region (although parts of Fauquier are like this). It's changing, slowly -- the America-hating seditionist traitor Dave LaRock moved to Clarke County (Berryville) and tried to run for office there, but failed.

There were a lot of stories about LaRock's property disputes (before he moved) in the local papers... he lived in Hamilton... which is zoned for... Valley.

Way to miss the point, genius.

They were protesting a law/policy, not an event, snd it was in another state. But my son, at his arlington middle school, saw “non-binary” females use boys bathroom. You know, bathrooms where boys stand and pee in a urinal without a door. Not hypothetical. The kids would say “oh, I just use the boys bathroom.” My son tried to use the bathroom at off times & always go in a stall. What middle school boy wants a female to see him peeing?

I think private individual places for transgender kids to use the bathroom & change are safest and most comfortable for everyone. Ideally, everyone would have this option.

It does when their arguments suggest actual experiences that have made them feel "uncomfortable." If they haven't actually had those experiences, their advocacy comes off as just protesting to take a stand, stir things up, get attention, something to write about in their college essays because they don't have anything else to write about, etc. It becomes a much less genuine protest.

It isn’t. This is a phantom menace.

That it’s Woodgrove is all you need to know. A bunch of performative shitheads with right-wing parents co-opting the actions of students with actual valid concerns (the walkout.)

I know their families. Most of them were at the Stop the Steal rallies before Jan 6

You - and your gaslighting - are the reasons that this IS indeed a thing.

I'm not "gaslighting." If you don't understand words, you really shouldn't use them.

I know this community. I know these people. I'm telling you, no one is ACTUALLY using these restrooms in the manner described at schools. For one thing, they're really only allowed in one at a time now because of the fentanyl stuff. But more to the point, you'd think there are legions of pervs pretending to be girls to scheme their way into the restrooms and locker rooms. There simply are not.

This is the SAME Woodgrove HS where lots of complaints about sexual assaults at this particular school came out around the same time as the assault at Briar Woods that made the news. Nothing was done about it because it was your garden variety male-on-female violence/date rape culture. Because so many of the boys are raised in a toxic masculinity environment. They're learning it from their parents, who are all right-wingers.

Well, not ALL of the kids at Woodgrove, but there's a group that is particularly outspoken and heavily into the culture wars. And, yes, their parents were all at the Stop the Steal rallies held in Purcellville. They're the ones who drive around town with the MAGA flags off their pickup trucks.

This is concern trolling at its worst. It's performative bullshit. Because, especially for this community where anyone trans is bullied, there's no actual probability of some trans kid wanting to use the bathroom of the gender with which they identify.

If no one is actually doing this, then no one would be harmed by changing the rules back so that kids have to use use their assigned gender at birth restroom and locker rooms. So change the rules back and everyone is good, right?

Well, no one is harmed by the change so why all the fuss?

Good for these kids for standing up for themselves.

Oh, so more similar to the Arlington kids both misrepresenting and protesting a law in a state hundreds of miles away, that has no direct impact on their lives? At least this was relevant to a policy in their own state. I think walk outs, for anything, are basically a waste of time, but if people are going to cheer on one type of protest, be consistent. It shouldn’t matter if you agree with the kids or not.

+1 we should be cheering all walkouts if that's your thing. I think they are pointless and stupid.

Change the law back if nobody is using it in the school anyway. Nobody will care right?

I’m honestly surprised how many people seem to be surprised that these are the rules and yes, kids follow the rules.

What I'd like to know is why George Soros is so vested in ramrodding change in Loudoun County that he would finance Buta Biberaj's campaign?

https://www.dailywire.com/news/loudoun-anti-racists-targeting-children-buta-biberaj

Note this 2021 article goes into malicious tactics employed by LC school board members, and overseen by commonwealth attorney Biberaj. They began to (secretly) gather information on Loudoun parents who vocally disagreed with their fringe agenda. Some of their tactics included stalking their targeted individuals, spying on them, gathering information such as names of their employers, who their kids were, etc. Really invasive stuff. Very inappropriate behavior.

This is genuinely crazy, inappropriate, demented behavior. These are the same folks who are trying to force inappropriate change in Loudoun schools.

The dark money is flowing in on both sides.

Segura’s campaign is funded by a who’s who of seditionists and misogynistic would-be abortion banners.

While I sympathize with the stigma and bullying that trans students are subject to, allowing them to us the bathrooms of their preferred gender, rather than the bathrooms of their birth is not good. Their comfort should supercede others comfort. In most schools there are single-use bathrooms (usually reserved for staff). Transgender students should be approved to use single-use bathrooms for their comfort so that they are not at risk in the bathroom of their birth assignment but they should not be allowed in the bathrooms of their preferred gender.

Women and girls are not your meat shields. If a male has issues with other males in the bathroom, that is a MALE problem. Don't bring into women's spaces.

And so vile. You should do an AMA so we can better understand how you got that way.
