Do you have find my iPhone app? All our devices are connected so you can look it up on his IPad or your phone, etc….

Do you really think this hasn't already been suggested?

If OP knows what restaurant he had gone to, could check whether the car is still in the lot. If the car isn't there and OP is an owner of the car she could ask police if they could run a license plate reader camera check to see where the car has been spotted. Hopefully the lack of responses by OP means the DH has already returned.

Come on, OP.

Give us an update!

I hope this wasn’t a troll. I’m invested.

Same. I don't think it was. Hoping for a happy ending.

I think she found out he was doing something that made her very angry and now she's embarrassed to update us.

I think so too.

If you have any chance of pushing past their default of doing as little as possible you need to be very assertive and direct that he is not having an affair, this is unprecedented, etc etc. they still probably won’t do much but run tags, see who was booked last night, and do their own check of hospitals.

You could try a private investigator if the police give you the uninterested vibe… depends on means.

Well…he might be.

Unfortunately this was my first thought.

Not when he's on kid duty in the morning. That would be betrayal on a whole other level.

Or she had to check him into a hospital for detox and hasn’t had time to update.

I would call/text his colleagues first to save him the embarrassment, but if you truly don’t know anyone and he works for a large company, call his employer. I work for a large federal contractor and they have ways of tracking people - when did he log off his laptop, where is it, where is his work phone, when did he badge out, who was he with at the work event, etc.

Speculating like this isn't helpful to her (if she's even still reading this, which I doubt) and it also is just...empty. We can do "I think this happened" all day long and fill pages with it but it's meaningless. I'll keep checking for any real updates the OP provides but if we start down the purely fictional "What ifhe was X?!" rabbit hole, this thread's a goner.

Again. Cops first. Need to get their attention first -- even if they won't DO anything at first. Eventually they may end up involved and better to be proactive and contact them first than have them saying later, "If only you'd called the police sooner."

So, I shouldn’t bring up my theory on alien abduction?

Nobody goes to detox over 1 night of drinking.
