Why does the GOP deserve my vote?

Concern for people's freedoms and personal medical decisions should be a moderate position. Protecting the earth and healing our climate so parts of the planet aren't uninhabitable for our kids and grandkids should be a moderate position. Opposing fascism and authoritarianism and standing up for democracy should be a moderate position.

My opinions are shared by a majority of Americans. That’s moderation.

What are your fiscal positions? Taxes, spending, wages, healthcare, education, infrastructure? How do you feel about labor unions?

Make the case for your party based on the issues I’ve said are most important to me.

Most of the moderates and independents I have anecdotally talked with don’t think the parties are the same, which is one of the statements where you go wrong from the start. However, they perceive little value in voting for either party. I think there are a lot of people planning to sit the presidential election out.

The bottom line is that there isn't a single person who has responded here with any policy or other reason why anyone should vote for a republican.

Sure. But a lot of the moderates and independents don’t see a reason to vote for a Democrat either.

OP seems to be assuming that if one doesn’t vote Democrat, one votes Republican. What I am saying is that is not true.

Agreed. And they assume that someone votes for the same party up and down the ballot.

Nope, I didn’t say that. Reread my OP. Make your case for your party.

You need to come up with your own talking points and develop critical thinking skills.

What you fail again to understand is that independents in particular do not align with one party or another.

You are a partisan hack.

My beliefs are in line with a majority of Americans; how is that not moderate? And why do I need to be a certain thing in order for you to make a case for the GOP?

I’m referring to the many people on this board who say that Biden is Trump and Trump is Biden. Many of those people reveal themselves to be solid Republican voters, so if both parties are the same, I’m not understanding why none of you can articulate why your party, or the party you vote for anyway, deserves my vote.

And one of you said that I’m acting as if one need to vote for one party or the other. Yes, because I understand our election system. It is one or the other. So if I should be splashing my vote on the GOP, tell me why, folks. Why hasn’t a single one of you been able to articulate why the GOP deserves my vote. Or anyone else’s.

So you can’t make the case for the Republican Party. You can’t give me a single reason why I should vote for the GOP. And you’ve called me a name as if you’re not talking about yourself; if you’re a third party believer, this clearly isn’t your thread. So you’re not a third party believer, you’re a Republican. Make the case for your party.

This is an example of a moderate opinion: "53% of U.S. adults say people overlooking racial discrimination is a bigger problem than people seeing it where it really didn’t exist."

62% of Americans believe that abortion should be legal in most/all cases. This is a moderate opinion.

not sure why anyone would try to convince you to vote Republican when the positions you stated as most important are not in line with the Republican party's current approach to those issues.

No big deal, but the thread is unnecessary. almost weird.

OK you just want to argue. I am waiting to know who the candidates will be. I don’t say I’m voting democrat/Republican/3rd party or abstaining. I can’t tell you one way another until the official lists are out.

You do not need convincing, because you have already decided.

Good luck.
