They thought he was a flight risk if he realized he was a suspect (based on their interrogation) so they arrested him to hold him.

I would assume so. He is obviously a suspect.

I wonder if anyone actually saw her on her walk, or if that’s just what he told her friends.

Please stop. Her son/family is not how you describe them to be.

I didn’t describe him as anything but a suspect, which he clearly is.

This article is focused on the UK, but this is also an issue in the USA as I learned working on a domestic violence hotline and later as a defense attorney and prosecutor. Some boys learn the abuse from ‘dad,’ some learn it from our misogynistic society but in any case, there are a lot of women out there being abused by their sons and some are getting killed by them.

He’s a good boy. Just kept breaking the law and never showed up in court in 5 years. Of course, the system failed him.

So maybe not her son? This says the suspect is 33, and I believe her son is older.

The article also said that they did not know each other, so it's not the son.

Her remains were found August 1, but it took till now to identify them via DNA?

She disappeared last week of July I think. Why couldn't she be identified by her remains?

Why do they suspect this man?

She disappeared July 29th in Greenbelt.

The suspect, Harold Francis Landon III, lived nearby in University Park.

Her remains were discovered in 7300 block of Old Alexander Ferry Road in Clinton, August 1. That location is right by Andrews Air Force Base, isn't it?

The suspect was arrested for an "unrelated domestic violence charge" on August 1st, the same day her remains were found. He's been in custody ever since.

It's not her son. It was a random man who was in the park, who did not know her.

Likely DNA evidence linked him.

Wait… they’ve had a body since August 1 and continued to let the community search the lake park and hold vigils for weeks? That feels particularly cruel to our community.

DNA analysis is not fast, and there's always a backlog.
