Missing teacher in Greenbelt Maryland

For her to be so randomly, brutally murdered is terrible.

There are very specific requirements to work at DKFI, so the teachers stay for years, decades, even. And people tend to send all of their kids their, so she was really close to some of the families.

This has been really hard on our kids - we’ve been given ZERO warning. There were news crews at school on the first day unexpectedly, and there was no heads up from anyone regarding the press conference today - so some of the kids learned their teacher had been dismembered that way.

Isn’t it a public school with French immersion? What specific requirements do they use? I get that thid was a small close-knit community and kids and families must be devastated.

All of the teachers, with the exception of specials (gym, tech, music), have native proficiency in French. The great majority of the teachers are African natives (from many countries). A lot of the students have families from Africa, as well.

I mean it clearly is but if you’re the type to randomly murder someone you’re not thinking that clearly anyway …

It’s a different pond I guess, near an industrial thing. But still, it’s weird. It’s not near Greenbelt or UP where he is listed as being from.

She disappeared July 29th in Greenbelt.

The suspect, Harold Francis Landon III, lived nearby in University Park.

Her remains were discovered in 7300 block of Old Alexander Ferry Road in Clinton, August 1. That location is right by Andrews Air Force Base, isn't it?

The suspect was arrested for an "unrelated domestic violence charge" on August 1st, the same day her remains were found. He's been in custody ever since.

Likely DNA evidence linked him.

Maybe? The news reports I read just said that they realized the man had been in the park the same time she was there. Nothing else to connect him to the murder.

That’s not accurate. His cell phone records show him in the park at the same time as the deceased and also at the lake around the time her remains were found. A witness took a photo of the suspect dumping the body and security camera footage captured that too.

I also read (I forget which outlet) that he identified himself or his truck in the witness photos while they were interrogating him.

Thank you. The doubtful posters who don’t bother reading the facts are tiresome.

Nothing else is your interpretation.

What is his criminal history? Can't be a first offense. He kidnapped that lady, killed her and dismembered her.

Monster. Also has low set ears.

She was cut up in pieces and had not been identified. The suspect was arrested on other charges. As was the son, for that matter.

Domestic abuse most likely. That’s what they brought him in for originally.

Reason 565435678888 our country needs to take domestic violence more seriously and prosecute those crimes. Nearly every killer or mass shooter has a history of domestic violence that was either ignored with a warning after a 911 call or not charged.

Take DV more seriously.

Another way to say that: care about crimes against women and children!

It just doesn't make sense. 33 year old white guys don't usually randomly go around attacking 59 year old African immigrant women they don't know. Do they?

He looks a lot older than 33.

I searched MD court records, and there are a bunch of cases against Landon, Harold Francis Jr., DOB 1959. So it's likely his father. I looked at just a couple of them, and one case is kidnapping!

There are five cases for Harold Francis Landon iii dob 1990 but I don’t understand how to read them.

If you scroll down you reach the part where it tells you what the charges are. Drugs, that sort of thing. The father, on the other hand, was charged with kidnapping. I don't see details, but not a good sign. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and all that.

Dumping ground for the body is a 4 min drive from the suspect’s father’s address on previous court records.

Basically the suspect “went back home” to dump the body. This was the culmination of a father-son psychodrama that had been playing out for decades.
