Pretty much everything's a chemical: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Stevia-Powder |
That’s odd because Diet Coke seems like the flattest of all soda to me. |
| Nasty. |
To you. It’s a complete chemical bomb to me. |
"Aspartame, a common sweetener in diet sodas, may be carcinogenic, a WHO agency says" https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/07/13/aspartame-who-carcinogen-sweeteners/ |

Yeah, this. OP, why are you trying to be "I'm not like other girls" over soda? It's weird. |
Pretty much any thread beginning "Am I the only one who" or "Anyone else" is going to be followed by some unsuccessful effort to claim sophistication. Also, who are all these people using the phrase "hit the spot"? Are we in some sort of time warp? Gee willikers. |
Hits the spot. You know, satisfying. |
Wait! So sugar free citrucel that I drink DAILY for decades to stay regular and healthy, that my doctor TOLD ME TO TAKE has aspartame and it's a carcinogenic???? What kind of cancer are they saying it causes??!!! Here are the ingredients: Active ingredient Citrucel Sugar Free Methylcellulose (a non-allergenic fiber) 2g Inactive ingredients (WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?) aspartame, dibasic calcium phosphate, FD&C yellow #6 lake, malic acid, maltodextrin, orange flavors (natural and artificial), potassium citrate, riboflavin each rounded tablespoon contains: calcium 80 mg and potassium 115 mg each rounded tablespoon contributes 24 calories from maltodextrin Phenylketonurics: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE 52mg per adult dose |
May be carcinogenic if you consume the equivalent of 12 per day. Not concerned. |
I know what it means. I had a grandfather. But who still uses that phrase? (Tip: in the phrase, "hit" is a verb, and thus can be either "hit" or "hits," depending on the subject) |
Aspartame could be cancerous if you were maybe a rat being injected with great quantities directly your eyeball. Not if you drink Citracal. Use your critical thinking skills. |
| Ans Sweet’N Low (saccharin) is also carcinogenic, if you consume a lot of it. |

I was preteens and teens in the 80s during the rise of artificial sweeteners. I just didn’t like the idea so I have studiously avoided them my entire adult life.
I have some strong feelings about the likelihood that these sweeteners will end up being linked to the rise of bowel cancer in young people, as well as likely the PFAS in our water and food chain. |
