On average in America, wages have increased by 80% since the 1970s and the Consumer Price Index has increased by over 500% since the 1970s. Is there a place in America where wages have increased at the same rate the CPI has?

Thank you.

It has to start there.

Tell that to Lauren Sanchez lol. Super unattractive woman netted herself a shark (also unattractive).

She's not that bad, especially considering she's like 50. She looks better than other old women I see.

Many of these super wealthy men don't have trophy wives. Almost every male actor has a tall manly looking wife (prob so they can guarantee tall sons). Or just some average looking brunette actress.

Look at the wives of Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. None have been conventionally attractive or "trophy" wives. Sam Bankman Fried had an unattractive girlfriend when he was still a billionaire too.

Peter Jones (British billionaire) has a not very attractive wife and same with Mark Cuban.

I see more attractive women every time I go in public. Just random ones on the street. So looks clearly aren't the only factor for all wealthy men.

I do think Dan Snyders wife is trophy wife material though. And Melania Trump when she was younger.

And Salma Hayek is short and manly looking, married to a billionaire.

Salma Hayek is manly looking? What? If I ever met a guy with tits like that...

The whole point of feminism is that YOU HAVE A CHOICE NOW.

My mother couldn't get a credit card or a mortgage without my father's signature. This was in the 70s. Women were kept in indentured servitude.

You can stop working, just get your finances in order.

In 1970 the average nominal wage in the US was $3.30/hour. Today it's $33.00/hour. How is that an 80 percent increase? Real (that is inflation-adjusted) incomes in the US are around 50 percent higher than in 1970.

Your real income is twice as high as your grandparent's, and you complain twice as much as they did.

Plus the whole basket and definition of CPI was changed by politicians to be artificially high so “policy” and QE can buy more votes, and tank the country’s future.

Yup. I'd be even happier about the strides society has made toward accepting gay and bisexual people because I'd definitely be relocating on the sexuality spectrum.

A devious scheme by the Rand Corporation in conjunction with the saucer people under the supervision of the reverse vampires.

Feminism doesn't ask you to work outside, it only wants you to have the opportunity to work if you want to. Your finances or ambition force you to work. To be fair, some feel forced to work even if they don't need or want to because their is capitalism based social stigma against SAHPs. Feminism acknowledges and values SAHP's contributions.

On this website, I feel like this is a troll post.

Full disclosure— I am a guy and I think that women will have to be extremely adept at setting boundaries to “have it all” with regards to a career, kids, home life, vacations, etc., and I think most professional jobs don’t allow for such boundaries. I also think the not-so-secret assumption of most professional employers (e.g., law firms) is that the employee’s spouse will stay-at-home if there are kids. One spouse working the equivalent of two jobs (e.g., 60-80 hours a week) very much assumes —in a purely practical sense — that such persons spouse stays home, or that there are no kids involved.

This^. In my circle every female physician with kids and household dreams of having a stay at home spouse who can cover home base. About 25% of male and 10% of female physicians do have stay at home spouses, mostly ones in more demanding specialties.

More than 50% of business bigwigs have a stay at home wife or a wife with just a show off job. Behind most successful men are women who deserve more credit than they get.

Okay. This is just BS to make women feel important. Would you ever say the same thing about about a woman? Behind most successful women are men who deserve more credit?

If a woman has a very successful career and a family, she probably does have spouse that at least pulls his weight with household work (or they just pay for housekeepers and nannies).

The last sentence negates everything you said.

But worth mentioning that I haven’t seen Mark Cuban’s wife in 20+ years, but he was in his 40s and she was mid-20s (my age at the time) when they started dating. I lived in Dallas at the time and remembered thinking of her as hot.

Where are you getting that information? The only people who say that real purchasing power has increased since the 1970s are right-leaning think thanks who say that corporations are people and love to cleverly interpret the numbers to make it seem like everything is hunky dory.

Don't look at averages. The wealth gap has increased horribly. Look at median.

Everyone has to carry their own weight in this world op. Trying to get out of that only leads to dependency and misery. Selling sex is a very tough job. Just ask any prostitute.
