Meh. Feminism is a lot of different things to a lot of different people. In its basic form, it's not much more than just securing equal rights and equal opportunities for women. But some subset of feminists will absolutely make a woman feel like she's betraying feminism if she wants to stay at home, take care of the kids, and run the household. |
Well I don't want to be my husband's property.
I want to own my own property independent of a man. I want the right to vote. I also like my job and thanks to feminism I'm allowed to work in the field I do and be fairly compensated. |
If I had a dime for the number of people who thought that and something happened to the money… |
You still have to work. You just do it on your back and your knees. |
True some would but real feminism isn't about berating other women's right to chose how to live her life. |
Absolutely. Men who make sacrifices to support ambitions of their high achiever wives, undoubtedly deserve credit. |
Sex is mutual fun for a healthy and loving married couple, not one sided activity. If a SAHP is taking care of kids, home and other life tasks so ambitious spouse can climb ladder, its co-dependency not dependecy. |
Everyone carries their weight, otherwise there won't be a need for nannies, cooks, babysitters, tutors, drivers, house cleaners, housekeepers, butlers, private assistants and house managers. |
+1. I can’t believe the misogyny in this thread reducing the role of women who stay at home to rear families to prostitutes. What an utterly abhorrent view of women’s love, labors, and talents. |
And what do the other 50% do? |
Most states are common property states so any property acquired by a couple while married, is owned jointly. |
Thanks to feminism. |
The OP said she was to be a "trophy wife." That's very different than a SAHM. Trophy wife means a rich guy married you because you're hot, and he wants to show you off and bang you. |
Divorce or fight every day on who'll do what or delegate parenting to hired help. |
I see your point, Lol. |
