| Late Gen Xer, age 44 with a 7 and 9 year old. |
Are you gen-x? |
Yep. I am towards the younger side of Gen X (born in 75) and several of my high school classmates have grandchildren. |
| I am a Gen X whose kids are 24 and 21. How am I supposed to be a new parent??? |
| If I’d had a kid at 25, they’d be nearly 25. Most of my friends waited till they were 30-35. I fumbled longer. Not a new parent any longer, kid is in elementary though. |
People on here make up all sorts of reasons as to why they can’t have a baby until they’re 20 years out of undergrad. |
| Older GenX here, had my first at 31 so they’re out of college now. Most of my GenX friends started having kids right around 30 as well. Definitely can’t imagine having young kids now. |
| Xennial here. Kid is a teen. |
44 and 43 is millennial, or xennial if generous. |
Trying to make yourself feel better about missing out in all of the fun?

While I could technically be a great grandmother (17 + 17 + 17) this just blows my mind that people younger than me are grandmothers. |
Also 48 and on since listserv days, kids are 18 and 11 now. |
|
I’m a Gen X parent of two high schoolers. I was 31 and 33 when they were born.
I disagree about this forum mainly consisting of Gen X. Most seem to be millennials. |
Don’t need to; see the Infertility forum. Hope it was worth it! |
| Gen x is people born in 1965-1980 or age 43-58. Hardly any of them—even in DC area where people have kids later than the national average—are first time parents. |
