NVSL Seeding is out!

We are MCSL ( moco) and division N. Lol… at least my kid will get to swim.

What's the difference between NVSL and CSL?

CSL pools are much smaller. Not sure they even do B meets.

It's like a country club! My younger kid had cotton candy and didn't complain the whole A meet! And they don't pay a separate pool fee, it's part of their HOA.

I love going to this pool. Last year they gave all the meet volunteers crumble cookies.

We are in Division 14. I’m sure most are happy with it. We dropped a division and I think the concern was there was a slight chance we wouldn’t.

I just looked them up. That is WAY out there. I kind of expect the Centreville pools to be nice. If you live that far out you have to have nice amenities.

Colonial league is smaller. They run similar to NVSL but are not as stodgy. Their meets tend to be more fun and slightly less competitive. They also have IM as part of their A meets which I wish NVSL would do as well. They do hold B meets as well.

In this area there is also the Country Club League and the Prince William League (also pretty small).

I have been surprised at how crappy some of the non-hoa pools are, that people join waitlists and pay membership fees to join.

We had problems with the Stars league also. The rule was the clocks ran at 30 points. The refs would always try to start running it at 20 points. Then our coach would have to stop the game and argue with them. Our league was very unbalanced and running the clocks really cut our team's play time, esp when they would try to do it at 20!

Knights of Columbus appears to be a big team.

I prefer the lower divisions. The people tend to be nicer. The only exception we had to that was Woodley. We swam against them and they had parents cheating on the stopwatches and were really obnoxious. I have never encountered that at a meet.

Sometimes you have no choice. If you want a pool it is the only pool in town. There are zero pools in Old Town and surrounding areas to join. So if you live there you have to go to ones that exist, which can not be so nice.

There are zero pools in South Arlington. So you have no options.
