DP Religious organizations do not have to follow the regular licensing process. Instead they can get a "Letter of Compliance" - https://earlychildhood.marylandpublicschools.org/licensing/resource-documents/licensing-manuals/letters-compliance-manual |
Go to Msde? https://earlychildhood.marylandpublicschools.org/office-child-care Our Daycare Provider and assistants takes early child development classes all the time. She said it helps her to grow as a professional and her staff too. They need to do that to keep the licence and the credentials if they have it like some providers are preschool teachers and needs to do hours and submit classes before their CDA expires |
And to keep the high ratings of child care facilities they have to take classes every year and submit the certifications to their child care resource center where they give the licenses.
Don't go to religious daycares, they are the worst. |
I worked at this school during this time as a floater. I did not last long, as I had an extreme problem with the way the school was run. The children were not allowed to learn anything academic in nature or be disciplined at all. You would be yelled at or extensively lectured in front of anyone if you reprimanded a child for problematic behaviors. Many children assaulted teachers and other children multiple times. You could barely keep a class together because of the behaviors. We did not follow the DC law and were never made aware of it. There were many times you had a group of children alone. You could also take children anywhere in the temple, outside of the temple, and off the property entirely, without notifying their parents first. You also were not allowed to talk to the parents without “leadership” present. If they saw you speaking with a parent, they would immediately rush over to interject into the conversation and monitor it. They also implemented unnecessary transitions that would cause confusion as to where children were and where they were supposed to be. Children ate lunch in different classrooms that they weren’t assigned to with teachers they didn’t have. Then they would nap in different rooms with a diffent group of teachers. I worked mainly with the younger group, yet had to monitor lunch with an older group I didn’t know, then had to do nap with a different group. Oftentimes, you didn’t know children’s names or much about them because they weren’t in your class. They also had no potty training rule so you would be changing 5 year old children in diapers, which is highly inappropriate, unless a child is special needs. I hated the preschool director as she was extremely ignorant, no matter how “heralded” she was in the ECE community and she barely ever came to work, and acted like a cult leader when she did. I was questioned by the police, FBI, and the attorney general’s office and told them everything. I quit because there was something in the school that was not right. My spirit was literally bothered by the environment. As an experienced educator, I have never and have not since been in an environment like that. I realize now that children’s behaviors were most likely caused by the abuse they were suffering. Though I did not work directly with the accused, I was employed during this time. I also stated to the FBI, etc that he was unresponsive many times on the radio, took children wherever, etc. But that was the culture of the school. I was not comfortable with this and I also hated the director with a passion. I have never hated anyone in life but that woman brought out a side in me I didn’t know existed. I hope they prosecute EVERYONE to the fullest extent of the law, throw them in jail, and close the temple PERMANENTLY. |
Have you informed the Temple board of directors? |
17:31 is a hero for sharing this insight with the community. My heart for the poor children who are still stuck in such a hell hole. |

The temple board of directors have NEVER reached out to staff that worked there during this time, to my knowledge. They never contacted me or any staff that I keep in touch with about this matter. I believe they do not want to contact staff because they know it will weaken any defense they are creating. I did not even know a board existed. While I cannot speak for all staff, I will say that in working there, you cannot deny that the environment created and enforced by the director and assistant director easily led to sexual abuse. While I never witnessed any abuse or know any staff member who has said they have, I do firmly believe the environment of the school and culture created and perpetuated by the director and assistant director directly contributed to it. The board would honestly not find any allies who would side with abuse. |

Here’s the temple’s board of directors, which is the entity that is responsible for making decisions relating to the child care center. It’s possible that the child care center is separately incorporated and has its own board though. |
The temple board does not care one whit or they’d object to their attorneys dragging the families and children through the mud.
The trial is going to be a jaw dropper. The congregation clearly does not understand what took place. I feel bad for the congregation. |
I recommend they immediately resign. Right now they’re associated with some of the most despicable crimes against their own school children. Anyone who “didn’t know”, certainly should have known. There are plenty of other options out there. |
This letter was really helpful to read, as a parent of kids at the school during the time of abuse. There are some things that are now clicking that didn’t before, unfortunately, despite our asking questions at the time. And yes, it was a disorganized mess. |
+1 |
Is the trial still set to begin on March 13th? |
Anyone know? |
