No cop or anyone else in Virginia cares if I have a front plate but if I park in DC I get a $50 ticket within 20 minutes. F U DC. If you believe the studies, they apparently also don't work. If people want to waste their money on stupid shit that doesn't do what it claims and in fact increases their chances of being subject to a traffic stop and receiving a citation, so be it.

Hate to break the news, but you’re required to have a front plate if your car is registered in Virginia. The MPD was fully in the right to ticket you, and guess what? Local and state cops in VA will ticket you as well.

What would MD & VA get out of reciprocity with DC???? It seems like DC needs the reciprocity not MD & VA. And you can’t assess driving points on out of state drivers if there’s no reciprocity and a comparable traffic law in the driver’s state.

Right, so why should we give deference to suburban commuters on our roads when the break our laws and drive recklessly.

Stand at any given intersection and count the number of drivers who come to a complete stop. Report back. Stand on any given road with a radar gun and report the number of drivers who are at or below the speed limit. Report back. Have a think about whether you’d rather be hit by a car or a bicycle. Report back. There are plenty of reckless cyclists in DC but they almost exclusively bear the risks of their recklessness. The same cannot be said about reckless drivers.
