Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Sure just a coincidence https://wtop.com/montgomery-county/2021/10/school-leaders-clarify-what-happened-at-fridays-svhs-football-game/amp/ |
Well they did technically win, they lost on a technicality |
What started it exactly? |
I don't let my kids get a pass with the "they started it" line. I would hope administrators and coaches aren't using that as an excuse either. |
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that NW and SV are both Germantown schools. |
No, they were ahead but it was the third quarter. Both teams were disqualified before there was a winner |
Which would effectively end it for everyone else too. |
Do you have video? I haven't heard of this. It's not a fight here or there I worry about. But I do worry when it's a mob of 50+ people. That's a hard thing to calm down. |
+1. Sadly. Left two years ago. Don’t regret it. |
I agree. I haven't seen it (my kid goes to Magruder), but if it's happening, the adults need to shut this all down. |
This? https://www.fox5dc.com/news/first-on-fox-5-student-arrested-in-churchill-knife-incident-disrupted-a-football-game-the-week-before-police |
| My middle class kids did fine during lowdown. These are poor fatherless POC kids who have no control over their behavior. Poor babies! |
| Gaithersburg was seen as a rough school when I was a MCPS high schooler 30 years ago. The more things change... |
| Lowdown = lockdown |
Such a generalization. It's only 69% of black children and 52% of latino children born to unmarried women: https://www.childtrends.org/publications/dramatic-increase-in-percentage-of-births-outside-marriage-among-whites-hispanics-and-women-with-higher-education-levels That's a whole lot of children who _are_ growing up with a father in the picture. |
