She has qualified for the Boston Marathon and looks much more like a long-distance runner than a “jogger.” I would guess she runs at 4:30am so she can get some serious mileage in and be home, showered and ready to go by the time the youngern one is up chirping with the birds. She teaches during the day, so no lunchtime run (not that you would want to in Memphis in August) and is busy with errands and family the rest of the afternoon and evening. It’s not like me, a slow-moving target plodding through a 3mi run at 4:30am. The news reports also say she was running through golf course and the college - hardly the sketchy part of most neighborhoods.

Do you know Memphis? Around 100 reported kidnappings in 2022. Not safe to be out running alone in the dark, whether man or woman.

4am in Memphis is when meth is still running through the veins of many addicts. Memphis is a narcotic capital of the US and also one of the most dangerous per capita.

Maybe issues with her birth family?

I’d say that’s a safe bet since she took the name of her low caste addict husband. Not even hyphenated. Very weird for someone so rich and from such an old money family.

How many of those 100 reported kidnappings were custodial interference between squabbling parents? 96-98, I bet.

+ 1

Train at home on the treadmill or go for run with a partner and a pepper spray. Maybe, have an airtag in your shoes, or a chip in your body. Being an heiress should have made her wary and taken more precautions.

"Simultaneously"? There are multiple people here, with multiple viewpoints. It is not "you vs. dcum."

I’ll go slower so you can keep up:
Some of you are saying—in the same breath—that the husband did it (or hired someone to do it) AND ALSO that she shouldn’t have been jogging. So my point to you is: if the husband is responsible, wouldn’t he have ended up murdering her anyway, and you’d probably be blaming her for like, being in the shower and being slutty enough to get strangled in there or whatever.

I'll say it slow so you can follow. If it is the husband he tried to make it look like it wasn't him so no, he would not just murder her in bed.

PP here. Maybe so, but the crime rate in Memphis is truly bad.

Not every reported incident turns out to be an actual kidnapping or abduction. The number of actual incidents or convictions is not readily available, but is certainly much lower than the reported number.

While unable to give an exact number, one top City of Memphis official said the number of actual incidents is very small. Since 2011, the city has averaged 98 reported kidnappings or abductions every year.

That woman looks like she's on meth herself in every single photo. Something really wrong there.

Well this thread was cleaned up.

It could be her relatives too. Maybe there is some issues with the division of property after her grandpa died.

There's no way to minimize the amount of crime Memphis, regardless of the way in which statistics can be manipulated. It's beautiful in many places and has a wonderful musical culture and history, but it's not viewed as a safe city.

I still think the husband is involved. I have “every right” to leave my car parked on my driveway unlocked with the keys in it. But I wouldn’t.

+1 Common sense is an undervalued quality.

Exactly.

She looks older than 34. Is she much older than her DH?
