| It has certainly been a long time. My experience has been they try and get you out of hospitals as quickly as possible. |
Yes, you start to wonder about fentanyl laced drugs. The thing is, even pot can be laced and that is legal in a lot of places. It would have to be something hardcore. I think I read a story where he said someone slipped him drugs that landed him in a coma in his youth. I hope this is not the case. He is a talented man. I don't know him, but he seems like a good person. I wish him and his family well. |
| Wasn’t there some kind of issues/discord on whatever movie he was filming? Maybe this is his way to get out of his contract? |
+1 Seriously! Actually, I learned about FAST and was grateful for the post. |
I'm the PP who posted the FAST/stroke PSA and thank you for saying that! Spread the word. Stroke looks like SO many other possible conditions at first, and it's so easy to think that someone healthy or relatively young can't possibly be having a stroke, when anyone can have one. Actor Luke Perry (at age 52) and director John "Boyz N the Hood" Singleton (at 51) both died in 2019 from unexpected, massive strokes. Sharon Stone, at just 43, had a stroke and had to relearn to talk and walk. Like I said in the earlier post, I learned about FAST from following actor Timothy Omundson, who had a devastating stroke at 47 due to an exercise injury; he's now disabled, but has fought his way back to acting. There are others, too--More stroke in the entertainment community than one would realize. And most of those survivors turn into stroke awareness advocates, which is a very good thing for the rest of us. |
A hospital isn't going to keep him for over a month just to help him get out of a contract. |
I think that something happened that may or may not affect his ability to get jobs in the future. Many times you don't know the long term prognosis, so it's best to keep quiet and hope for the best. |
Doubtful. Someone at Jamie Foxx's level wouldn't need to fake an illness to handle a contract dispute, or slide out of a contentious shoot, or get a less bankable actor fired from a film, if Foxx wanted that. He'd have the best lawyers as well as plenty of weight to throw around with studios, directors, etc. And he and his people would know that faking illness or injury would be utterly unprofessional and would end up exposed at some point, down the line if not now. Too many eyes on him and on that production to try any such stunts as that. |
This is also what I'm thinking. JF has been all over lately with acting projects and sponsorship deals. It feels like his camp needs to see how far back they think he can come and the timeframes before they put the word out and need to start untangling his legal commitments. And it may be the case his acting career as we know it is done and they're dealing with how to approach that. Of course, this is pure conjecture, but it's been a long time with no word from inside. |
PP from above re: strokes, and it can take years of intensive rehabbing to get back to anything like working ability, and even then, the work of which he's capable may be profoundly different from before. Even if Foxx did not have a stroke, whatever has happened to him, if he has been physically or cognitively impaired, it could be months before the full extent of damage is really revealed. It's entirely understandable that there would be no word, even after weeks in the hospital. Doctors may still be in relatively early stages of understanding how impaired he may (or may not) be. I really do wish him the best and hope he got swift treatment. I'd be glad to hear his crisis wasn't actually severe, he's on the mend and this was all just intense caution to prevent rumors. But the time passing makes that seem less likely each day. |
If it’s a stroke then by now they know how he’s been affected. The question is how quickly p, if at all, can he recover. I think it’s either weeks or a few months where you regain some of what you lost. There comes a point where it’s as good as it’s gonna get. If it was a stroke, he probably would have been released, moved to a facility or home by now. I suspect he’s on life support. Because he has money to pay, they are keeping him in the hospital. Otherwise by now you are usually moved to a facility to provide the necessary care. |

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS!
Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," Corinne Foxx wrote Friday in a note on her Instagram Stories. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!" She added, "We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!" |
| I feel the sympathy tide turning soon. |
