What does the Venn diagram of Christian nationalists and 2A activists look like?

Perfect circle for the SCOTUS.

I’m certain you are also including black evangelicals and baptist in this “Christian Nationalism” right?
Because this group disproportionately commits mass murders compared to white people 20% v50%. But THOSE mass shootings, that happen damn near weekly in DC, rarely make the front page.

So thanks for openly admitting that you would rather deflect the truth and refocus the discussion on Black people.

The sick irony is that comes right out of the playbook of racist Christian nationalists!

DP

Do you believe data should be used in finding a solution? The data itself isn't racist, but solutions using the data could be. We need to figure out why we are failing brown bodies as such a level.

We are all subject to the gun violence that the white, christian nationalists push onto us.

Raise the minimum age.
Implement universal background checks & red-flag laws.
Let LEO fight gun trafficking.

Common sense gun control will help all of us. Except the white, christian nationalists who will need to push other boogeymen to fuel their idiotic base.

Misogynistic views and a history of violence towards women is the only common trend I’ve noticed

Anyone else think this is what’s up?

Heavy-duty Russian troublemaking is what’s up.

"Now I want you to think about this: where did the Second Amendment come from? ... From the Founding Fathers, it's in the Constitution. Well, yeah, I know that. But where did the whole concept come from? It came from Jesus..."

The Lord is a warrior and in Revelation 19 is says when he comes back, he's coming back as what? A warrior. A might warrior leading a mighty army, riding a white horse with a blood-stained white robe ... I believe that blood on that robe is the blood of his enemies 'cause he's coming back as a warrior carrying a sword."

"And I believe now - I've checked this out - I believe that sword he'll be carrying when he comes back is an AR-15."

"I know, everybody says that was a metaphor. IT WAS NOT A METAPHOR! …And that was the beginning of the Second Amendment, that's where the whole thing came from. ... I know that's where it came from. And the sword today is an AR-15, so if you don't have one, go get one. You're supposed to have one. It's biblical."

Studies abound showing the correlation between White Christianity and gun ownership.

Came here to say just this (not a professor). White Christianity has morphed into some of the misogynistic, He-Man mentality. Look at the imagery: Jesus has huge muscles, the manly savior, etc. It's not the Protestant church many of us grew up with. It's homeschooled, extremists touting guns, saving baaabbies, and loving Trump.

I agree with your book recommendations, but your knowledge of homeschooling is out of date. With COVID the numbers of secular homeschoolers exploded. And with the combination of ineffective reading instruction and major security issues at schools, many of the secular homeschoolers aren’t sending our kids back.

Except a lot of the resources, curriculums, co-ops, etc are still religious.

Sure, but secular materials are available, and now that there’s a bigger market for it, you can expect more to hit the market.

Socially isolated lone wolf males with:

Mental illness and easy access to guns

Sorry.
We have to find a way to blame Christians and anyone who believes that the citizens of the US should promote the interests of the US (nationalism). Hence: "Christian Nationalism."
The idea of isolated young males who are clearly mentally ill is a much too complicated theory and would require more action than simply "banning guns."
We would need to actually look at why these young men are so isolated.... looking into their home lives, their social media presence, their propensity to abuse animals and women, their juvenile arrest records.....

Nope, can't do that.

There is a difference between people who are Christians and Christian Nationalism. Just like there is a difference between ISIS and regular Muslims. There is a nuance here that you are failing to grasp. Actually it isn't very nuanced at all.

Yup, with CRTCRTCRT and school shootings, we are ever closer to the Koch Brothers dream of eliminating public education.
