Is Christian nationalism to blame for mass shootings?

Like most mass shooters he was a loner misfit freak. Nothing against loners, or misfits, or even certain freaks.

But the trouble is, in America, they have easy access to assault rifles. We all know what happens next.

We have easy access to guns, period.

Raise the minimum age.
Implement universal background checks & red-flag laws.
Let LEO fight gun trafficking.

Anyone else think this is what’s up?

Each year, a greater percentage of Americans identify as non-religious. If anything, we’re at the last stages of the “religious right”. https://dnyuz.com/2022/06/01/what-comes-after-the-religious-right/

it's scary how such a small % of Americans is basically dictating policies and has an outside influence on politics. IMO, this is not what the founding fathers envisioned.

Federalist paper no. 10 essentially enshrines “tyranny of the minority” in our political system, but only grants a consortium of rural constituents the power to say “no”. The Rs play “the party of no” better. The Ds could adopt positions to welcome rural voters to deny the R advantage.

What are we supposed to do about tyranny again? Not catering to their fcked up positions.

It’s framed up in terms of “factions” (so the concept is broader than just different states, and includes diverging interests across any number of issues), but the framers most certainly envisioned that urban / high population states (one type of faction) would need to cooperate with rural / low population states (another type of faction). Otherwise, they have the power to say “no” to whatever an urban / high population center is trying to force them to adopt. Sorry if that bothers you.

This lays out the connection pretty well.

What does the Venn diagram of Christian nationalists and 2A activists look like?

Perfect circle for the SCOTUS.

I’m certain you are also including black evangelicals and baptist in this “Christian Nationalism” right?
Because this group disproportionately commits mass murders compared to white people 20% v50%. But THOSE mass shootings, that happen damn near weekly in DC, rarely make the front page.

So thanks for openly admitting that you would rather deflect the truth and refocus the discussion on Black people.

The sick irony is that comes right out of the playbook of racist Christian nationalists!

Nope not an incel or a man for that matter. I just want to understand the rules of this game. Are we including ALL Christians, or just certain ones.
Thanks in advance.

Do you believe data should be used in finding a solution? The data itself isn't racist, but solutions using the data could be. We need to figure out why we are failing brown bodies as such a level.

Where is your data? I'd be curious to see the source.

WAPO says there were 12 mass shootings over the memorial day weekend. Mass meaning 4 or more people shot. Most of these are in communities of color and aren't reported nationwide.

That's not the data I was asking for. I'm curious about the "black evangelicals" - there are so few Black evangelicals relative to White ones, and most Black evangelicals are more liberal than their White counterparts.
What you do you hope to accomplish by mentioning Black evangelicals in a discussion of White Christian nationalism?

Citation that "black evangelicals and baptists" commit mass murders. Oh wait. You were just trying to make some racist, baseless point about gun violence.

The small faction who has control of our country at the moment - white Christian nationalists - DGAF about black evangelicals or baptists. They are overjoyed that their lax gun laws promote violence in blue cities. It helps them fearmonger their idiotic base.
