No because they have 5 grandkids between them and if Anne brings hers, why were Beatrice/Eugenie and their children cut?

I’d assume Andrew’s family wouldn’t be there because their father is a pig.

They could have just used the Covid excuse for cover and let Bea and Eugenie attend. Let the world get a look at their children. That would have been nice, and you'd see all of the Queen's grandchildren together. It's not like anyone forgets about Andrew just because he's not on the balcony. His scandal hovers over things, regardless. Bea and Eugenie with their new babies would have given the public a counter image to that part of the family.

The BRF never gets the PR stuff right.

How would including all the grandchildren help with paring down the BRF? While you have one PR goal in mind, they seem to have another.

Only one branch of the family is important.

This is it. It just is.

Not good for Catherine to be in the “frame” and not William. She could get Anne Boleyn’d if she’s not careful.

Its fun to watch. We get the benefit of not having a monarchy (thank you Founding Fathers) while still getting to witness the pomp and circumstance in real life. Its so foreign to me but also so fascinating. I personally love history and tradition and its pretty impressive that the monarchy is still around. And damnit if I don't love looking at pretty dresses and jewelry.

Did you even watch? Edward and his two kids were on the balcony. That’s why PP asked about Anne.

Paring down is a find goal for the future of the monarchy. A platinum jubilee is celebrating the past, so it doesn't seem like paring down is the right thing to emphasize for this particular event. Plus everyone loves to see babies. They'd be a nice antidote to the cloud of nastiness that has enveloped this family of late.

I don't have cable so not sure if American networks have their own cameras. I had to watch whatever the official feed is that's on YouTube. Terrible camerawork. I hardly saw William or George at all. It was the Queen, Kate, and Louis almost the whole time, with everyone else cut out. Very weird.

+1. Interesting history and pageantry. And even though I disagree with the concept that people are born with an elevated social status in this day and age, it’s not my tax dollars paying for the monarchy.

I cannot speak for anyone else but I caught "Di fevor" and only watch now to see what a disaster the Royals are without her.
