Hard to imagine Charles or William having a reign half as long. What’s the minimum number of years to get a Jubilee? I’d also be a bit surprised if there is still a BRF when George us on the throne.

This most likely will be the last big jubilee in our lifetimes. Paddington Bear said it best "thank you ma'am for your service".

If any monarch spends 70 years on the throne, I'm okay with giving them a big party to celebrate their reign. It was a nice way to thank her for everything, celebrate her and say goodbye. At least she got to see the thanks and celebrations.

I doubt Charles will have a jubilee. William *might* have a 25th jubilee (doesn't make sense to throw these big parties for anything less than 20 or 25 years). We most likely won't be alive when George takes the throne and who knows what the BRF will look like at that point.

How old are you?

DP, but how old are you? George is eight and the Windsors seem pretty long-lived, so assume we've got at least 80 years until he could take the throne.

It’s clear this child is not disciplined, and it’s ridiculous that so many people are all “oh he’s only 4!”. 4 year olds can be expected to behave much better than this in public. If this child was next to you on a plane or at an event doing this, you same people would be complaining left and right. It’s just because it’s one of the Cambridge kids that everyone is bending over backwards to excuse the behavior. If Archie had been photographed doing that, Piers Morgan and his ilk and many of the posters here would have broken the speed of light to condemn Meghan.

As far as the balcony, why would they have come if they were upset about it? It was announced far in advance that only working royals would be on the balcony. As far as their kids, I don’t blame them one bit for not bringing them out for pictures. What’s the good in it? If they do, people will say they are using them for this or at.

I thought they handled the entire situation well. If they hadn’t come, people would have come after them for or. So they came. Then people still came after them. People said they would do all that they could to draw attention to themselves. Instead they were low key and only went to the two things they absolutely had to. So then people said they were pouting.

I’m very curious to know what would have been the preferred thing for them to do by those that can’t stand them.

I actually liked what they did. They came as a family of four. Made their presence known but stayed largely invisible. Everyone knew where they were staying and they mingled with family that made an effort. Now if William didn't want to fly clear across the ocean to visit their new home that's one thing, but if he made no effort to see a child he has never met that was in the Queen's backyard that's something else entirely. His choice and the ball was in his court.

If they were so eager for the family to meet the kid why wait an entire year to take her to the UK for a visit?

William was kind of busy this weekend...there was this thing going on for his grandma's 70th year as Queen. He can hardly skip it because his brother wants attention.

Um...COVID? Two unvaccinated children under the age of 5 including a baby?

Oh that's right. COVID didn't exist for this weekend so it wasn't an issue.

Btw, they flew private.

I wouldn't have flown with an infant under 1 during a pandemic. Babies get sturdier throughout their first year of life. Plus, the Queen has had COVID recently, so they don't need to worry (as much) about their unvaxxed kids giving it to her...we (non-royal) stayed away from several of our elderly loved ones over the last two years for fear of our unvaxxed kids giving them COVID. And flying private doesn't mean that you won't get COVID when you see all the other people at these events.

We stayed away and the elderly one went off their rocker from loneliness. YMMV.

I'm 47. Remember - William is 40 (in a couple weeks). Charles is 73.

I can see Charles ascending to the throne either later this year or next year. He will be 73 or 74. I can see him being King for 10 or 15 years so William will become King when he is around 50 or 55. That's relatively young. He could easily be king for 30 years or so. Unless tragedy strikes or William doesn't live as long as his dad/grandmother/grandfather/great-grandmother did - we are looking at at least 40 or possibly 50 years before George gets to the throne.

That video of him and Kate! With him making faces and covering her mouth.

She’s every mom.

Hmm, no. None of the other royal kids were or are that bad. He kicked his sister, slapped his hand over Kate's face, and was just unruly the whole time. He needed his nanny.

Agree that he probably would have been more comfortable with Nanny Maria there. But he didn’t seem that bad to me and he’s the cutest of the three of them.

In several short years that “cute little ham” will inevitably morph into an obnoxious playboy, like they always do.

And then everyone will say it’s such a shame, we never saw it coming.

No doubt. It must suck to see your older brother get all the special attention and education. Being a sibling of a future monarch would stink.

Unless the Queen has major health issues, I see her going another 4-5 years, easily. Even if she’s bedridden, she will not give up the throne. I will be surprised if Charles ever becomes King but if he does, it won’t be a long reign.

Maybe they weren’t eager for everyone to meet the baby. It’s their business. Not yours. It’s hard to travel with a baby under one. Plus, the Firm probably interferes.

We can probably assume the racist comments were not made by the Queen. I suspect William or Charles, because both seem to have a mean streak.

Or it could have just been made up by meg's and harry. Half the things they say are false.

You cannot trash your relatives in the worse way and expect to go on the balcony. I think everything this week almost communicated that everyone is done. The Queen loves Harry but she is not having the gossipy drama. Hopefully they get it and act better.

I doubt they expected to be on the balcony. How exactly would that work for some non-working royals to be on the balcony but not Andrew? It would just draw attention to him.

They 100% expected to be on the balcony. When they didn't get to they threw a fit and left early.

+1

Megs wanted to be front and center, but the queen put her in her place.

Ya'll are so mad about kids you didn't even see. Focus on the feral third child making headlines around the world l- Kate needs your prayers she looks like she's been through it.

If William lives to 90, or more, then George will be King when he is 59 or older. Imagine living a certain protocol all your life just to be King (or Queen) for a few years. Elizabeth was lucky. Her father and her were never expected to reign so they got to live a somewhat normal life.

You think William is living another 80 years?
