If you vote Republican, and your children are killed in a school shooting...

There was another thread called “are republicans in a death cult?” about republicans mocking and then dying of COVID. This reminds me of the same thing. There’s a real streak of cruelty and selfishness in many Americans. They don’t care if it’s not their kid. They have trouble even imagining that or showing any empathy.

Are these people being pushed out of bed? No. People have the option of installing a railing to keep them in bed if this is an important issue to them.

It’s not just school shootings. Guns need to be regulated.

Please be real. The chances of being in a school shooting are lower than dying from a car or bus crash to or from school. That does not mean ignore it. But please keep in perspective.

Guns are the leading cause of death for children in the US PP. this is not JUST about school shootings. This is about reducing the number of guns out there to protect kids everywhere, not just at school.

This will never happen. No matter what laws are passed there is no chance to reduce gun deaths outside of schools. None.

WT ever loving F**k are you talking about? Of course if there are fewer guns, there will be fewer gun deaths. IT LITERALLY EXPLAINS THE ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD and why almost every single f**king country on earth has fewer gun deaths (per capita) than we do

Yes, don’t let them narrow the issue to “just” school shootings. This is so much bigger than that. Gun violence is a leading cause of death among young children.

This is correct. I know many MAGA republicans. F. I’m related to some of them (yea, that’s right, unfortunately I have stupid people genes in me but I have overcome).

I’ve been around them and their friends. They are callous as all f**k. It’s sickening.

Have you read this thread??? I’m having trouble believing you are a real person.

Literally nothing said before this post contradicts this. Nothing matters more to republicans than party loyalty and identity. Dead children, be damned.

One thing republicans have in common is that they can’t understand anything until they go through it themselves. They can’t tolerate abortion until their daughter needs one. They can’t stand interracial marriage until their niece marries a “nice black guy”. Healthcare isn’t a right until they lose their insurance. Unemployment is an “entitlement” until they lose their jobs. Everyone else is lazy, irresponsible, and looking for a handout, but they and their families are deserving and they are an exception.

Real person sick of the BS. Republicans support domestic terrorism. No decent person who understands government still supports them.

+1

Perhaps some of these right wingers can serve oranges to their kids this weekend and subtly hold an orange up to their child’s head or trunk. Any “MoDeRaTeS” who read this next paragraph can too. See how big an orange is next to your child’s tiny, fragile body.

“The injury along the path of the bullet from an AR-15 is vastly different from a low-velocity handgun injury. The bullet from an AR-15 passes through the body like a cigarette boat traveling at maximum speed through a tiny canal. The tissue next to the bullet is elastic—moving away from the bullet like waves of water displaced by the boat—and then returns and settles back. This process is called cavitation; it leaves the displaced tissue damaged or killed. The high-velocity bullet causes a swath of tissue damage that extends several inches from its path. It does not have to actually hit an artery to damage it and cause catastrophic bleeding. Exit wounds can be the size of an orange.” https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/02/what-i-saw-treating-the-victims-from-parkland-should-change-the-debate-on-guns/553937/

You know there are many different types of bullets that go in an AR-15 right?

Incel say what?

The main currency for status and social influence is being an A-hole and a bully. As time goes on, it gets distilled into hate.

I truly want to know 1) Can you put yourself in the shoes of parents whose children have been murdered in school by legally purchased assault rifles? and 2) If even the horrifying nightmare of your own babies dying would lead to connect the dots

I am not a troll. I want to know what your reasoning behind putting gun supporters in office are.

Trump is the only thing that would get me to vote democratic for President. Voted against him twice. Yes can put myself in those shoes -- very vividly. Doing issues like red flag laws, gun shows, background checks would have my support. Strongly support a massive investment in mental health services and in school security. I also strongly believe in the right to defend yourself and own guns. I would like work on a wide number of measures but would not vote democratic in most elections because of this issue alone. The issue is important and should be front burner and dealt with but very unlikely to vote for a democrat.

No one is taking your guns. They want guns to be regulated, a view that you apparently share.

On this thread -- most want the guns not some regulations.

A lot of us wanted regulations decades ago but now that school shootings get a collective shrug from our sick society? NOW we want them all f-king gone. Stupid, useless killing tools that don’t belong in civilized society. Toys for pathetic men who need to feel like tough guys because their daddies were horrible role models for how to be a human being.

Toxic masculinity is the main underlying problem that needs to be addressed.

Agree but that take a generation. Guns can go now.

Every political ad should show these massacred beginning with Sandy Hook. Play these ads 24/7.

I am sick of hearing about the responsible gun owner because these are the people in NRA and politicians are terrified of losing their vote. Your uncle, like all GOP Members of Congress should be putting country and the lives of children before their corrupt party. Your uncle is a part of the problem.

And by the way, the Parkland officer ran away from the school too.
These police officers are probably men who have grown up believing that they would be able to shoot the bad guys. Ha.

It would appear that cowardice on their part was a major factor.

NP. I have read the thread and I can't believe that you can comprehend what you read. That or you need a remedial first year reading class.

Republicans lack empathy and imagination.
The only scenarios they can envision are
sluts aborting cherubic, healthy babies
And heroic men saving the day with an assault weapon.

I vote for whoever is least scary and not trying to drastically change the way we live, think, raise our kids. Both choices are pretty awful, to be honest, if we go down partisan lines. But everyone votes for what matters to them personally at the end of the day. Asking people to abstain regardless how they vote is just messed up. Gross hypocrisy.

LOL, I would love to read similar hyperbolic tirade only from the other side, let me try:

Democrats lack empathy and imagination.
The only scenarios they can envision are
women subjugated like in Handmaid's Tale
And unhinged men with assault rifles skulking around like in the old days of Wild Wild West

Np- if your vote means high powered rifles in the hands of the mentally ill, we don’t need your vote.
Stay home. That’s not hypocrisy, that’s sanity.
