If you vote Republican, and your children are killed in a school shooting...

You are an idiot. I don't know what to say. Please go back to school, and I pray that you develop some critical thinking skills.

So here's the thing. I actually live in Mexico right now so I understand this dynamic probably better than anyone here. In fact I'll double down: gun control is definitely not the answer.

The problem is Mexico’s neighbor has zero gun regulation.

Are these people being pushed out of bed? No. People have the option of installing a railing to keep them in bed if this is an important issue to them.

It’s not just school shootings. Guns need to be regulated.

Please be real. The chances of being in a school shooting are lower than dying from a car or bus crash to or from school. That does not mean ignore it. But please keep in perspective.

More people probably die falling out of bed.

Anyone who still votes Republican is either ignorant or crazy- they have zero policies and don’t give a crap about public service.

Have you read this thread??? I’m having trouble believing you are a real person.

Literally nothing said before this post contradicts this. Nothing matters more to republicans than party loyalty and identity. Dead children, be damned.

One thing republicans have in common is that they can’t understand anything until they go through it themselves. They can’t tolerate abortion until their daughter needs one. They can’t stand interracial marriage until their niece marries a “nice black guy”. Healthcare isn’t a right until they lose their insurance. Unemployment is an “entitlement” until they lose their jobs. Everyone else is lazy, irresponsible, and looking for a handout, but they and their families are deserving and they are an exception.

Real person sick of the BS. Republicans support domestic terrorism. No decent person who understands government still supports them.

Guns are the leading cause of death for children in the US PP. this is not JUST about school shootings. This is about reducing the number of guns out there to protect kids everywhere, not just at school.

Perhaps some of these right wingers can serve oranges to their kids this weekend and subtly hold an orange up to their child’s head or trunk. Any “MoDeRaTeS” who read this next paragraph can too. See how big an orange is next to your child’s tiny, fragile body.

“The injury along the path of the bullet from an AR-15 is vastly different from a low-velocity handgun injury. The bullet from an AR-15 passes through the body like a cigarette boat traveling at maximum speed through a tiny canal. The tissue next to the bullet is elastic—moving away from the bullet like waves of water displaced by the boat—and then returns and settles back. This process is called cavitation; it leaves the displaced tissue damaged or killed. The high-velocity bullet causes a swath of tissue damage that extends several inches from its path. It does not have to actually hit an artery to damage it and cause catastrophic bleeding. Exit wounds can be the size of an orange.” https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/02/what-i-saw-treating-the-victims-from-parkland-should-change-the-debate-on-guns/553937/

You know there are many different types of bullets that go in an AR-15 right?

Abstaining is a vote for the other side. That goes for Dems. If your not happy with Dems and sit this election out you’re voting for a Republican.

You think that sitting out means really voting GOP? Is this true even if you’re normally a GOP supporter? If so, then you’re saying most of the country is right-leaning, which we’re told over and over again is not the case. So confused here.

I swear, more and more of these threads are by foreign operatives.

Republicans like you are usually trying to miss the point. Objective achieved!

More people die from cancer, so who cares about this.
Honestly not being a republican doesn’t mean your opinion matters.

Statistically you're more likely to die in a car crash than in an airplane, but that doesn't mean that we throw out all airline safety regulations, in fact, you have to go through so much security nowadays just to get on a plane and it's all because of two events.

This will never happen. No matter what laws are passed there is no chance to reduce gun deaths outside of schools. None.

I truly want to know 1) Can you put yourself in the shoes of parents whose children have been murdered in school by legally purchased assault rifles? and 2) If even the horrifying nightmare of your own babies dying would lead to connect the dots

I am not a troll. I want to know what your reasoning behind putting gun supporters in office are.

Trump is the only thing that would get me to vote democratic for President. Voted against him twice. Yes can put myself in those shoes -- very vividly. Doing issues like red flag laws, gun shows, background checks would have my support. Strongly support a massive investment in mental health services and in school security. I also strongly believe in the right to defend yourself and own guns. I would like work on a wide number of measures but would not vote democratic in most elections because of this issue alone. The issue is important and should be front burner and dealt with but very unlikely to vote for a democrat.

Right, yet again, unwilling to sacrifice your gun fetish even though regulating against it would save the lives of babies. I see where your priorities lie.

OP asked and I gave an answer. No I am not voting for democrats just as you apparently are not voting for republicans.

A lot of us wanted regulations decades ago but now that school shootings get a collective shrug from our sick society? NOW we want them all f-king gone. Stupid, useless killing tools that don’t belong in civilized society. Toys for pathetic men who need to feel like tough guys because their daddies were horrible role models for how to be a human being.

What? Yes. It will. Fewer guns = fewer gun deaths. We know this.

Toxic masculinity is the main underlying problem that needs to be addressed.
