I shower before bed. Clean skin, clean hair, clean sheets. I can't imagine crawling into sheets that you've slept in with without showering. I even shampoo my hair every night. I'll rinse off my body in the mornings.
I don't know if this is a cultural thing, but in east Asia, showering before bed - like removing your outdoor shoes - is considered hygenic. |
| Two showers a day. I shower at night before bed - hate the idea of dirty sheets - and in the morning I shower (i'm a male) to wet my hair so it can be combed, and to shave. I suppose i could do that at the sink but it wouldn't be any easier or faster. My wife showers at night and rarely in the morning. Kids at night. I expect my kids to continue to shower before bed, and will see if they also choose to jump in the shower in the AM. Morning showers just leave you looking more polished, no? |

Let's get some honesty here:
I shower in the morning... every other day. During the winter? Sometimes every third day. |
+1. To start or end the day, unless there’s a special reason to shower at a different time. Also, the kids need to be fed and go to bed, so wouldn’t want to delay making dinner. |
I also don’t shower every day. Usually every other day. |
Maybe they have really athletic sex every night? Not sure — I’m a clean body into clean sheets person myself. I find it hard to also if I feel filthy from the day. |
|
For the clean sheets people ... how often are you changing your sheets?
Surely not every day. So, by day 3, aren't the sheets a little bit dirty anyway? I feel like this is too much showering. |
| I grew up in a family of seven with one shower. We joke that we still shower at the same time of day, even though it's been 30 years since we lived together: At night: Dad, child 1 and child 5. In the morning: Mom, children 2, 3 and 4. |

Do you all not have kids?!?! I come home, everyone is screaming/crying at me for food. I rush to get dinner on the table, we eat, play a bit, they get baths, books and bed. Then I clean up from dinner and it's 9pm. And that's when I usually shower.
Come home, dinner, shower right before bed. |

If I’m dirty from outside activities (hiking, gardening, attending an all-day sumner festival, etc.) and covered in some combination of sweat and/or sunscreen, bug spray, and grime, I’ll shower as soon as possible. Not only for my own comfort, but also because I don’t want to get against furniture, etc.
As a general practice, I shower in the morning. Yes, I sometimes sweat at night. At best, I start the day feeling like it’s been 8-10 hours since I’ve showered and I’m just not fresh anymore (analogous to showering in the morning and working a full day at the office - while I wouldn’t offend anyone, if I wanted to dress up snd go somewhere special, I’d want to shower again). There are times, however, when i wake up shivering, with my clothes soaked through and a puddle of sweat in the bed. It’s also the best, deepest sleep, accompanied by extremely vivid dreams. Showering in the morning helps me wake up and I start the day feeling fresh. The only benefit to night showers is scheduling, and since I may have to shower in the morning anyway, that benefit is nullified, and is actually less efficient. |
Dinner and watch TV/news. Shower in the morning |
| One shower a day. In the morning. Once. |
+1 This is so weird. Who showers at night, goes to bed and wakes up dirty? That's disgusting. If you are sweating so much at night, then make your bedroom cooler/buy better bed linens/get fans, etc. I do not sweat at night nor do I get dirty while I sleep, especially after a nightly shower. |
NP. My DH and his oily head definitely need a shower in the morning, even if he had showered at night. Different people, different bodies! |
| Regardless of the shower thing, I would never cook dinner in my PJs. Then they would smell like food, and probably get dirty. I typically change into casual clothes before cooking dinner. |
