Tampon shortage?

I have Saved so much money and never have to worry about having a tampon supply on hand. I don’t have to worry about used tampons and the trashcan.

There is a steep learning curve but, once you get the hang of it it’s miraculous. It is not messy to take out, does not leak and can last all day. If I have extra heavy flows I may have to empty it out once mid day. Easy.

I switched to a cup for 6 months. Went through three types and hated each one. Hated the entire experience. Went back to tampons and never looked back, which I'm not saying to dissuade someone from trying. But everyone prostyltized them so hard I thought there was something wrong with me for hating them. So sure, try them! But if they don't work and you spend six miserable months buying $40 cups of plastic and hurting your v getting them in and out and leaking and getting the occasional yeast infection (for like the first time in your LIFE) then give it up without torturing yourself any longer. They aren't magic for everyone!

Cups are soooo much better for the environment and they don’t need changed often. I change it like every 8 hours. Not as messy as you think.

Not sure what shortage. Go to Amazon now and type tampons. They are in stock at regular price. WTH.

I can only use OB tampons. Just looked it up on Amazon, and the two pack of “super” sized ones is $23. Typically they’re $6 or so a box, so this is literally a 100% mark up. But you’re right, at least they are available (they weren’t about two weeks ago when I last looked).

Buy a Diva Cup. Or get an IUD and your period will dwindle down to barely anything if not stop altogether.

PP here. I have a Mirena IUD. My period is actually longer on it than it was on the pill (10+ days vs 4-5). It also took a good 4-5 months after insertion before I stopped bleeding/spotting continuously. I’ve had it for about 8 months, maybe it will get better later but for now I’ve had to use way way more feminine products than before.

Cup all the way. I have the Lena cup and have used it for 3 years. It is excellent.

I have a Mirena, as well. After getting it, I bled non-stop for about 6 weeks, then had spotting about 3 weeks after the non-stop bleeding ended, and haven't had anything since then. I've only had it for about 5 months, though, so things could change.

+1 I was really hoping my Mirena would end my periods, but so far, it's and resulted in tons of spotting. I'm only 4 months in so maybe it will get better.

So then that’s a big drawback for those of us who don’t work at home…

I used to work in the office pre-covid, and I'd be able to empty my cup. Find the handicap restroom, for family restroom. You have a little more room, mine had a sink in the stall (it was actually a single bathroom), so easy to wash up and feel sanitary.

The reason for the tampon shortage is actually because Kimberly Clarke Corp decided to discontinue their Security Line tampons citing a "business decision." Hundreds of thousands if not millions of women experiencing dysmenorrhea relief on the security tampon for their heavy flows (including me) now the news media citing this thread is in a flurry about the story and hasnt done their due diligence to hold KCC accountable. We started a group to advocate for its return to market. If youd like to join heres the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/clicktamponssuck/ Sometimes there are people with surplus stock who sell security tampons. Good Luck!

Why are you all only shopping at CVS? They are the worst and most expensive place to buy anything including tampons.
Stop shopping there and you wont even notice a "shortage."
