The most useful tip I ever received on DCUM was about the cup! I switched and have never looked back. I have Saved so much money and never have to worry about having a tampon supply on hand. I don’t have to worry about used tampons and the trashcan. There is a steep learning curve but, once you get the hang of it it’s miraculous. It is not messy to take out, does not leak and can last all day. If I have extra heavy flows I may have to empty it out once mid day. Easy.
I switched to a cup for 6 months. Went through three types and hated each one. Hated the entire experience. Went back to tampons and never looked back, which I'm not saying to dissuade someone from trying. But everyone prostyltized them so hard I thought there was something wrong with me for hating them. So sure, try them! But if they don't work and you spend six miserable months buying $40 cups of plastic and hurting your v getting them in and out and leaking and getting the occasional yeast infection (for like the first time in your LIFE) then give it up without torturing yourself any longer. They aren't magic for everyone!
