They know we are stronger together so they try to get us distracted and fight each other

Since BIPOC specifically excludes Asians, I'm not sure what you're getting at with your post.

????
Asians are 100% people of color.

BIPOC = Black and Indigenous POC only

Asians are POC, so a new term was needed to exclude them.

“Them?” So, first you’re wrong about what BIPOC means. Then you’re trying to stir up divisiveness — when it apparently doesn’t involve you in any way. Are you getting paid for this? Butt hurt because you’re really not needed in the conversation? Twisted and projecting? What’s your stake in this conversation?

tldr: Speaking with a forked tongue yet again

Since BIPOC is a name for Black and Indigenous POC, this is the wrong thread for it. Unless you want to be divisive?

It doesn’t bother me in the least. So tired of cultural appropriation stuff. We live in a free country. People should be flattered when others imitate them. Lighten up.

dp. You're an absolute idiot. BIPOC stands for Black, indigenous, and people of color. It's an inclusive term.

DP: but it doesn’t sound inclusive when it leads by singling out two groups and then presumably lumping everyone else together.

Why not simply use the POC moniker?

Personally, I think we need to ditch the whole white/nonwhite POC catchall.

"The BIPOC Project aims to build authentic and lasting solidarity among Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), in order to undo Native invisibility, anti-Blackness, dismantle white supremacy and advance racial justice.

"We use the term BIPOC to highlight the unique relationship to whiteness that Indigenous and Black (African Americans) people have, which shapes the experiences of and relationship to white supremacy for all people of color within a U.S. context. We unapologetically focus on and center relationships among BIPOC folks."

It's like eats, shoots, leaves and they just left out the commas to define BIPOC

They’re saying that the Black and Indigenous experience shapes the experience of other people of color. Which is unequivocally FALSE. We have different experiences and all are valid on their own.

Relegating the lived experience of non-black, non-indigenous POC to being basically an irrelevant offshoot is divisive and demeaning.

Accusations against her are ridiculous. Does this mean all AA must speak one way?

I’m not “obtuse “, I just don’t agree with you, and wonder why you’re pushing this. “blaccent” ? Who even says that?

It's a pretty known term at this point. Clearly she developed a persona, and she has been criticized because that persona includes AAVE and a "blaccent," which is apparently not how she actually speaks. She has apologized for it and backed off recently, it seems.

For the fourth time we get it, you don’t like her. Now go away, you’re annoying.

This is a weird and seriously defensive reaction to a statement of fact. She has, in fact, been criticized for this. It is literally on the CNN main page right now. The person never said they don’t like her, or that they agree with the criticism.

My only issue with her is her crooked teeth. Get some dental work.

SHE'S FROM QUEENS. HOW DO YOU EXPECT HER TALK? I'm Asian, I talk like the white people I grew up with in Michigan. Are you going to accuse me of cultural appropriation?

THIS! OMFG. I am also Asian, lived mostly in Chicago and people STILL tell me sound like from Chicago and I've been out here for 10+ years. Am I supposed to fake an Asian accent?

Yep, and I’m still calling it “pop,” not soda.
