Wait pooled for Poolsville. Not accepted to RMIB. Invited to regional IB at WM. Would you keep your kid at Whooton? Or, attend the regional IB? The commute looks bad. |

Google says 20-30 minutes. It depends how much your child wants IB, is looking to reinvent themselves away from ES--> MS peers, wants new friends, and so on. |

I would consider the commuting time. Wootton is already top tier and the kids will have more friends and plenty of “peers.” The saved commuting time can be used on all sorts of things. |

| I just got an email welcoming my kid to CAP, but the ParentVue letter yesterday said they weren't selected. I'm assuming the email is wrong, but wondering if anybody else has had the same thing happen. Looks like they also sent the email to my kid, so I'm hoping kid doesn't notice it and get confused or excited until we find out what's going on. |

Our DC is in the waitpool for CAP and we did not get an email. Maybe they are already pulling from the waitpool and they are actually selected now? I would call and try to clarify. |

| I'm the first PP who posted about the letter, and my kid wasn't in the waitpool, just "not selected" according to ParentVue. So this has to be a mistake either in sending out the email today (likely) or in the original entry in ParentVue. I have an email into the CAP coordinator asking about it. |

| We will be looking at this for DC in a few years and I wanted to ask how many accepted to RM IB were also coming from the IB program at Julius West? Is the an advantage for the kids already in that middle school program? |
