I'm a progressive organizer. No, still listening to Spotify. I respect Neil Young's choice, but I'm not sure that banning liars accomplishes the goal of having fewer people tap into misinformation. I'm also concerned about having corporations act as censors.

Because people believe they should not get vaccinated, then get sick and fill up the hospitals and overwhelm the health care workers, spread covid around and help it mutate. Kids are left without a parent when a 50 year old healthy person dies of covid because they would not get vaccinated. There are lots of cases like this here on the Colorado prairie where many people are not getting vaccinated and then getting really sick.

The conservatives in my family who refuse to get vaccinated didn't even know who Joe Rogan was until this debacle.

+1. I am not a fan of Neil Young's music, but I admire him speaking out against misinformation. However, I am against deplatforming in general, with the exception of things like hate speech and targeted harassment. Of course, it is Spotify's decision to make, and they do have the right to remove Joe Rogan or Neil Young or anyone else. However, I believe that it is the wrong decision to do so.

Ironic post. I have, in fact, listed to Rogan after encountering someone who made similar comments IRL. It was worse than I expected. He needs to be canceled.

I watched that horrific interview he did at the beginning of covid times in which he interviewed a well known epidemiologist. It was horrible. That moron would not stop trying to get this scientist to say that getting in a sauna with really hot air would kill the virus. The doctor explained slowly and more than once that the heat air would have to be so hot it wouldn't be compatible with life. The moron would not let it go. He seems very slow and dim-witted.

That was Dr Osterholm. I thought it was a good episode, it helped me understand the virus better.

Joni Mitchell's gone? I guess I am too. (I just learned that both she and Neil Young had polio when they were kids and were in iron lungs, so they have a special appreciation for the power of vaccination.)
