| I am very disappointed with Spotify because of their stance. But what other options are there that allow you to create your own playlists, listen to friends playlist, allow you to have multiple accounts for a family to have their own playlist? I miss the days when I was able to download my Apple Music onto my little nano iPod |
Amazon music Apple Music To name just two. |
| I know he can afford to do this but I was pretty impressed how Neil Young put his money where his mouth was and took a stand against something he believed in. It would be impactful if other very well-known and lucrative artists would do the same. |
I am sure he will miss those $5.47 per month in royalties |
If you switch to the free version of Spotify, do you lose playlists, favorites, etc. or just gain commercials? (I know this doesn't address the issue of whether Spotify needs to be canceled but I am curious about the difference.) |
Yup, that's what I use. |
| I'll be playing Harvest Moon on repeat all day! |
Everything stays. You gain commercials and the inability to play a specific song. So if you click on a song, the playlist starts playing in shuffle mode, and the specific song you want may play as 1st song or as 20th song. You also cannot playlist of same artist, you’ll find “recommendations” added to it, and cannot repeat a song. So it works more like a radio. I have been having the free account except for specific times when they offer free upgrades for 1-3 months. I haven’t cancelled my free account with Spotify. |
Barry Manilow and Peter Frampton have. |
Right, and Amazon and Apple definitely occupy the moral high ground. |
|
Of course I cancelled that is my right
Spotify took their stance I took mine . See not cancel culture just people exercising our freedoms |
Higher than Spotify. |
| Yes we’re moving to Apple Music |
