Here is my issue.....

I don't doubt that there are Democrats who are opposed to the lax measures being taken by these progressive prosecutors. I am sure there are moderates out there that think the inclination to go easy on these repeat violent offenders is not good for society.

The problem is that there are no prominent Democrats, in these DA's districts, or any other district, speaking up AGAINST the policies that put these violent criminals back on the street. There is no outcry from the left. As they say, silence is complicity.

There's hardly any prominent Republicans anywhere willing to speak out against violent right wing extremism like the violent attack on the US Capitol on 1/6 or the guy arrested on his way to assassinate Dr. Fauci, or the massive right wing propaganda machine that is fueling that violence and extremism with lies like Trump's Big Lie and anti-vaxx conspiracy theories. And the few who do get attacked by their own party.

So don't presume to tell me the right wing has any coherent policy to offer where it comes to containing violent crime. Shut down the toxic disinformation, denounce the extremism, join in the prosecution of those who participated in it and maybe THEN you will have some credibility, maybe THEN you might be worth listening to.

Give me a fricking break. Nearly every Republican - every one - has condemned the actions at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

No break for you, because that's patently false - they only did it coupled with deflections and other falsehoods like claiming it was an FBI false flag. They refused to participate in the 1/6 Commission to investigate it. A huge number of them helped peddle the Big Lie of "thE eLEctIoN wUz StOLeN" that led to the 1/6 attack. Many of them supported and endorsed Republican legislation in the states making it harder to register and harder to vote, based on that lie.

For your claim to even remotely be true they have to do MUCH MUCH BETTER than that.

As heinous as their behavior was, it doesn't impact people in a personal way like muggings, home invasions, shootings, car thefts random vandalism, etc. Democrats need to speak out forcefully. If not, start counting the votes for Republican candidates.

roughly half of the Republicans in Congress have formally denounced Jan 6. It needs to be better, but there have been a very small handful of Democrats who have denounced anarchist DAs

Dear Lord. Now, you are rewriting history.

No, dear. Your leader, Nancy, summarily dismissed some of the members named for that committee by the Republican leader. So, all the members were pulled because Nancy threw a little temper tantrum. Then, she rounded up a couple willing to serve. And, while we are at it..... Liz Cheney is NOT the ranking member on this committee. Since she was not selected to serve on it by the GOP leader and she does not report to him, she is not the ranking member. Even though she thinks she is.

Talk about rewriting history... LET ME CORRECT YOU. First of all, the Republicans voted AGAINST having a commission at all. Secondly, Pelosi kicked off Republicans who were COMPLICIT on 1/6, like Jim Jordan, who was on the phone with Trump while it was happening. Putting him on the Commision was a JOKE. A complete SLAP IN THE FACE. My word, you are either clueless or the worst kind of disingenuous liar.

Ugh, ugh, DCUM liberals are SO smarmy and condescending!

Self-awareness is really not the DCUM conservative's strong suit.

"Complicit." LOL!!!

And, this committee "invited" Jordan to come and testify for them. Fat Chance!!!!

Gee... maybe they could have talked to him if Nancy hadn't removed him from the committee.

A 26-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Palmdale might be sentenced to a short stay in juvenile hall or granted probation at a court hearing this month, sparking another round of outrage over Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón’s all-or-nothing criminal justice reform platform.

The complicated case of Hannah Tubbs has drawn increasing frustration from law enforcement officials and politicians in recent weeks, who say the situation once again highlights the problem with Gascón’s blanket ban on trying juveniles as adults.

Tubbs, who identifies as female, was two weeks shy of her 18th birthday when prosecutors say she walked into the women’s restroom of a Denny’s restaurant in 2014, grabbed a 10-year-old girl by the throat and locked her in a stall, court records show. Tubbs then shoved her hand down the girl’s pants and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors say, stopping only after someone else entered the restroom.

The case drew widespread attention at the time, and the L.A. County Board of Supervisors issued a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. But Tubbs was not linked to the crime until 2019, when her DNA was entered into a database after she was arrested on suspicion of battery in Idaho, said Lt. Richard Ruiz of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau.

She has also been arrested for battery, drug possession and probation violations in Idaho and Washington, where she also has a pending misdemeanor case, Ruiz said. Tubbs was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in Kern County and faced a prior allegation of sexually assaulting a minor, which did not result in a prosecution, according to Ruiz and a review of court records. Several calls to the Kern County district attorney’s office seeking additional information on both cases were not returned.

The district attorney also expressed concern that Tubbs herself would be victimized if placed in an adult facility as a transgender woman and noted a probation report actually recommended Tubbs be sentenced to home confinement. Instead, Gascón said, prosecutors asked for Tubbs to be kept in custody for two years where she could receive treatment and therapy.

Well, this obviously can't have happened.

Are you kidding? Jordan doesn't "talk." He just launches into blathering diatribes of garbage, he talks over people, he ignores sworn testimony and injects his own crazy garbage, he's one of the most disrespectful, dishonest members of Congress. He can face them under subpoena. I have no problem with that. And if he resists, he can go to jail until he changes his mind like Trump's other lackeys.

If he had any honesty or integrity whatsoever he wouldn't be playing any of his games. But all it is is games.
