Is it funny or just really pathetic? My husband and I don’t typically exchange gifts but this year I asked him for the 6 qt kitchen aid and a set of knives that were at Costco and guess what… he went out and bought them within the week. I already used it for cookies and I would be pretty peeved if he had gotten the wrong one. I didn’t realize he was a top performer among husbands. |

You sound like my DH who is running around today shopping. |
Nailed it. |
That is really nice of you to save OP. Merry Christmas! |
He already checked and if he is in the DMV it is not available for 300 miles..ie New York City distance. But, if he left before the sun rose he could have driven the 600 miles round trip. |
LOL! We watched this movie yesterday! It was delightfully 1990s----the super crowded mall! The clothes! The hair! Arnold! |
I use mine at least once a week (actually I have two) And we had the cabinet for it designed when we built our house. |
Versus what? Aren’t all gifts just the other person buying something you could buy for yourself (when it comes to spouses). Trust me, when your husband can barely manage to buy a specific item, you do not want to see what you get when he decides for himself. We are talking what is on the clearance rack on Christmas Eve. Yes, it is fun to have a present under the tree that you do not have to hide your horror and then haul off to goodwill. |
Yup. Use mine every Friday to make challah for our family. It’s aces. I have the 5qrt tilt head. It doesn’t rattle the way a PP described. It seems fine. Have had it about 15 years but only started using it weekly 10 years ago or so. We also use it for regular cookie and cake baking and for pizza dough and stuff. We do have spare counter space though. |
thank you. used the link and ordered. arriving in two weeks. Merry Christmas. |

Your wife has asked for a 6 but you can only offer her a 5. So give her the 5. She will make the right ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ noises when she first unwraps the 5. She will continue to use it for a while, but at the back of her mind she will always wonder how much better a 6 would be.
So don’t be upset if, when someone offers to let her try a 6, she takes them up on that. The good news for you is that she may decide a 6 isn’t really all that much better than a 5. In fact, she may even think your 5 has a load better features than the 6 she tried. Merry Christmas. |
That is highly unusual What do you make with it? It is one thing to desire a new appliance, another to also re-design cabinetry to go with the appliance |
|
if she knows she wants a 6, get her a 6.
if i knew i wanted a 6 and got a 5 it might not work for what i needed. |
2 weeks after Xmas. OP what was her response. As a wife I would not be happy w a 2 week IOU. |
ILY because my husband and I totally watched Jingle All The Way (the above referenced movie) while wrapping gifts and having a glass of wine on Christmas eve after the kids went to bed. I was like, I forgot how awesome this movie was. |
