wife wants kitchenaid 6 qtr mixer, can only find 5 qtr. good enough?

don't know anything about baking/cooking but is 1 qtr really that big a difference? really no better alternatives now so i should just get a 5 qtr one right?

I have the 5 and have never had an issue with it being too small. It takes a lot of space in the pantry, I wouldn’t want larger

If it were me I’d be really happy. But I don’t know your wife. I’ve learned through DCUM that one quart might make a difference. So do you have that kind of wife?

I would, but get a gift receipt/keep the receipt and don’t get your feelings hurt if she wants to exchange it.

+1. Inventory has been tough on KA’s lately. Include a note that she might want a different size/ color and some accessories.

Gah I hate to be a pill but if she asked for the 6 quart rather than the standard 5 quart, there’s probably a reason. Are you having trouble finding a store that carries it?

only 5 qtr at the target i went.

Get the five and tell her you won’t be offended or upset if she exchanges for a 6. If that’s a problem, you’ve got bigger issues than Christmas presents.

Wait, so you only went to one location of one store? You didn’t look online long ago?

Give her gift certificate. For price of 6 Qt., tell her they only have 5 qt. And that you wanted to give her what she asked for rather than ask her to take less.

Be careful where you buy and make sure they accept returns. Williams Sonoma I believe is not accepting returns.

I wouldn’t be happy with the artisan vs the professional one. I’m not crazy either but I wouldn’t want to unwrap something I don’t want. Just include a note saying it’s coming vs buying the wrong one.

Lol at the husband searching on December 23. I secured dhs hard to find gift a month ago.

Yeah, kinda agree with this.... Unless she only very recently declared a wish for a 6 qt mixer, shopping and only finding a 5 qt on 12/23 is.... really not great. Especially is you think you have that kind of wife. Why are men?!?!

(I would be happy with it myself, but... she asked for 6 qt, maybe for a reason, and she is the one to please.)

The gift reciept / gift card situation is maybe an option, but at least insist on taking on the return/exchange yourself. Don't give her an errand. (I swear this is a Seinfeld bit, but a quick google didn't turn it up. Anyone?)
