Who drives the babysitter home?

In my babysiting days back in the early aughts it was equally the mom's and dad's until I could drive myself.

It’s currently very hard to find evening occasional babysitters. Restricting it to drivers makes it almost impossible especially on busy weekends like holidays.

I had a huge crush on one of the dads I babysat for. Still felt totally awkward and wished the mom would drive me home. He was a totally harmless person even.

+1 why are people so paranoid?

Yeah, that’s really bizarre. Our kids don’t need babysitters anymore, but their babysitters were the daughters of friends of ours. None of them would think twice about whether me or my wife drove them home.

This is why we use adult sitters, ones with a car, or ones that have parents who will drive them. We also pay fairly.

Because one misunderstanding or fabrication will ruin a man’s life.

And one creepy dad can ruin your daughter’s life.

True. Don’t be stupid.

I'd never hire a boy sitter. You'd have to be insane.

I am hesitant to allow my daughters to spend the night at homes with older brothers. Do you have any idea how many grown women I know that were molested by a friend's older brother or father?

Crazy to think it is insane to hire a boy sitter

I'm at a loss as to why you think this would matter, when the concern is assault or allegations of assault.

Yep. I am a lightweight who won't drive even after 1 glass, it just doesn't feel safe.

Wrong. Not going to let a teenage girl walk home alone at night, unless it’s under five houses away.

I assume the point was that they could walk her home after having a drink. I babysat a lot in high school for neighbors and someone always walked me home.

If you can't trust him to drive her home she shouldn't be at his house babysitting.

My husband drives her home. Takes him forever. He’s such a slow driver.

Not really. Most sitters are in fact girls. I wouldn’t hire a male sitter ever, personally.

Well that's extremely sexist. Imagine the outrage if someone came on here and said they would never hurt a girl or a woman for a certain position based on their sex alone.

You are aware that women can molest or do inappropriate things to children as well right? It isn't limited to men.

Yeah, you've already posted. Take a hike.

Never Uber/Lyft.

Usually the mom. Else the babysitter's mom or dad would come to pick her/her up.
