Who drives the babysitter home?

Not sure if this is a thing I’ve made up or if other people do this too, but: if you have a teenage babysitter who needs a ride home after your date, Mom does it rather rather than Dad, right? Just for propriety.

I would.

Always the mom.

Moms, although that certainly wasn’t the norm when I was a babysitter!

Same! I had to think about who drove me home 40 years ago. Typically it was the dad. Never had any issues.

I wasn’t drinking, just up at 10pm which I haven’t been in months! DH offered to do it for me because I was tired and I was like “oh no that’s not done” but wasn’t sure if I was making it up.

+1, and I recall feeling awkward but I had no issues. Today, I (mom) would do it.

When I was the babysitter, it was always dad. Never had an issue and I find this discussion depressing.

Mom every time assuming your sitter is a girl.

Just keep it in mind next time.

When I was a babysitter in the 80s and 90s it is always the dad. Now that my teen daughter is a babysitter it is usually me. She babysitter for families we know and we often arrange that I will come and get her so that they can both enjoy a drink (they uber). My daughter is always well paid on those nights. If it is not me than the mother always drives her home except for one family where the dad is a police officer and he drives her home in the police car as he heads out for his shift.

DH and I would take turns.

The babysitter’s dad. The baby’s parents will likely have been drinking.
