Yes, why did they want to change it SO MUCH before anything definitive came out.

Seriously? Because the story was farcical to anybody with half a brain....I guess that doesn’t include imbeciles like you.

Yes. The obvious problems with the story were obvious from the beginning. But some people just wanted so badly to believe it

And the press reported it as the gospel truth without once pointing out the inconsistencies in the story. It’s a great case study of everything that is wrong with the corrupt media.

Yes. I definitely saw headlines and tweets from the MSM that reported on the attack as if it were fact. Many major news sources didn’t bother to preface “attack” with “alleged.” And then there were all the op eds about how the attack shows how much Trump voters hate black and gay people.

Many of those same people will soon be rushing to defend Smollet soon.

The template will be "just because it didn't happen THIS time, doesn't mean it isn't happening 10,000 other times, every single day!"

They'll then praise Smollet for "using his platform to make us aware of this".

Just watch.

Yep. The story will be that he brought national attention to an important issue. Maybe he didn’t do it in the ideal way, but he’s obviously in pain/struggling.

And most are committed by white men:

Regardless of these horrifying stats, no one has the right to stage an attack to bring these instances to light.

Agree. But it's certainly feasible that some white MAGA-types committed a hate crime based on race.

of course

But somehow we are failing to recognize that hate crimes predated MAGA.

Slavery - hate crimes
Jim Crow - hate crimes

not to mention the genocide that goes on around the world

This country is young and dumb. The world, however, is old and dumb b/c no one is learning from the horrific past events. We just seem to enjoy being miserable in the present - eating up every news source that fits our agenda.

Yes, there have always been horrible people. The horrible people of today are mostly MAGA.

Easy solution to toxic news cycle: turn off the TV.

Given how infrequently there are false accusations, we should err on the side of the victim until the police can investigate.

While the story was generally feasible (MAGA trash are homophobic racists), I don’t want to rush to any judgments until the police made a statement. Because I clearly don’t have all of the same facts as they do.

Even why you TRY to sound magnanimous and attempt contrition, your bigotry still comes through, lolz

LOL - why would I need to "attempt contrition"? I haven't done anything wrong. I'm STILL waiting on an official police announcement.

No one is going to PRAISE Smollet, you ridiculous MAGA turfs.

Just stop. With the crap going on in VA right now, you may want to take a step back from your bigotry.

DP here. I have no doubt that some liberals will indeed make excuses for him. And, they will turn in into praise just as pp predicts.
These people fail to see the harm this does when someone does suffer attacks for their race or sexuality. But, everything is ok because Smollett has "elevated the issue."

Yes, Virginia sucks too. Don't forget - it's only a tiny step away from being red.

Next?

If it's a hoax, I don't see many people continuing to support him. Look what happened to Franken.

You're just reinforcing my response. SOME MAGA is a symptom of a rough past we fail to examine. (I don't believe that every person who voted for Trump is a racist.) Instead of covering up ugly events in a PC manner (removing any traces of Columbus at Notre Dame, for example), we need to have civil -but difficult - conversations.

b/c guess what? All the PC actions only explode as hostile acts.

Hey, at least Smollett should be commended for giving 2 legal immigrants employment.

When asked whether Smollett is officially considered a suspect in light of the new information, the Chicago Police Department told TMZ: 'We have some information that needs to be corroborated and verified with the Empire cast member before we can answer this question.

'After new developments, we've reached out to his attorney and requested additional time to interview him.'

Smollet has missed at least one planned meeting with detectives.

He only allowed redacted phone records to be given to detectives.

Honestly what regular American citizen would be allowed to edit phone records before they allowed police to see them, or would just not show up to a scheduled meeting with law enforcement and the police would have so much patience and understanding?

Meanwhile actual crime victims in Chicago need help but this terrible, lying man continues to play some twisted game. It’s just disgusting.

Thoughts & prayers.

A leftist who supports fake hate crimes, lying to the community/country, using thousands of taxpayer dollars to chase down bs, and a man who apparently is mentally ill.

Although it should never have happened, it did, and further illustrates the insanity of leftist anti -Trump supporters and politicians.

Kamala Harris and Corey Booker both tweeted out almost identical “lynching” tweets after Smollett reported his fake attack.

No intelligent thought for you, and definitely no prayer. Just a jumble of lies and a big dumb hoax that any adult with 2 brain cells would be insane to even attempt.

Apparently none of them have even watched a single episode of law and order. And understand security cameras. And Uber receipts. And Jussie apparently is of the advanced intelligence that he thinks deleting numbers and messages from his phone will actually delete them. Super smart guy.

Also the “hate mail” Jussie or one his accomplices mailed with “MAGA” in the left hand corner will be charged federally as a crime.

The media has left that funny little detail out.
