If you cave to a bully once, they're not going to stop, and instead, will keep pushing you for more and more.

The only bullies are Democrats. No wonder more and more Americans, of diverse backgrounds, are joining the Republican Party.

This is incorrect. The voters are leaving the Democrats and becoming Independents, they’re not joining the Republicans.

Yeah that’s me. I can’t foresee joining either party at this point. You have forks at far ends that are crazy

If you are essential, you work, but your don't get paid. Usually there is backpay...not so sure about this time around. All bets are off.

They would have to change a law in order to not give us back pay.

Me too. I keep my Democrat registration so I can vote in primaries, but the extremes in the both parties lead me to consider myself Independent.

Democrats will blink. GOP is controlling the narrative, even if it’s an outright lie (wanting to give billions to illegal immigrants), and the true reason, extension of ACA subsidies, isn’t the hill they’re going to die on for now.

I expect enough will agree to Schumer’s counter of a shorter CR to buy more time.

There is not going to be a shutdown folks. Dems are going to cave. They are just pretending for the base that's all. Dems are too scared. They are so easy to blackmail crazy

Without the courage of Republicans, America would be a Chinese colony by now.

No deal from the talk but Dems are starting to sound like they are preparing to cave.

Instead we're becoming part of Putin's USSR!

Where are you reading they’re caving? Schumer can’t have a 10 day CR. There’s no option to amend the CR that’s on the table without the House voting and they’re out until 10/6

Can someone please explain to me why do some of us hate government workers so much ?? There are bad colleagues everywhere private, public, semi private, semi public etc? This hatred for federal workers is frankly disturbing. And the lie that they make a lot give me a break. At 35 I make far more than most federal workers and I enjoy steady career progression.

Do some Americans believe that our soldiers and air traffic controllers are private sector workers? The engineers who investigate air crashes, the civil engineers who work on big massive projects, the scientists who trace very rare but deadly diseases etc? Have Americans been brainwashed into thinking that these guys work for Goldman Sacks?

I am discouraged by our hatred for other Americans for no valid reasons.

I want them to cave because I don't want fed workers to lose their jobs. And remember the Supreme court has signaled that the executive branch can do pretty much whatever it wants.

For strategic reasons we should punt, because anything that ends up at the supreme court will end up being permanent.

No. It’s just that many Americans believe all these people should be private sector workers.

Air traffic control probably would be better if it was run by the private sector.
