I am excepted. It is very clear in the DoD guidance. Hopefully, that means my position will never be eliminated, but I really would like a vacation.

Democrats want a shut down.

I think everyone will be fired by the end of the year.

If you cave to a bully once, they're not going to stop, and instead, will keep pushing you for more and more.

The only bullies are Democrats. No wonder more and more Americans, of diverse backgrounds, are joining the Republican Party.

Sorry no, the GOP not only want a shutdown; they’re going to fire all federal workers so Vought can achieve an erection, finally.

the dems want to make the case to extend the covid era aca temporary subsidies that are supposed to expire after the pandemic? There is no pandemic, what exactly is the logic here? Makes no sense, they should make a better case for a shut down?

As part of COVID-19 relief legislation, the Biden administration temporarily expanded eligibility for ACA health insurance subsidies and increased the financial assistance for people at lower incomes who were already eligible under the ACA.

This is incorrect. The voters are leaving the Democrats and becoming Independents, they’re not joining the Republicans.

+1. President Biden announced covid-19 public health emergency ended on May 11, 2023, right? Why taxpayers still pay the subsidies?

My agency is not making us all essential.

Wait, is this true? Are these subsidies directly linked to a temporary Covid action?

We usually operate off our reserve budget, but OMB does have to give permission.

Same. And they did not this time around for us. Preparing to be furloughed and then laid off permanently.

How does it work when you are essential but you are just a normally appropriated agency without dedicated funding (I’m at NIST).
