Dems have a lot of people who are really good talkers - Buttigeig, Pritzker, Shapiro, Crockett - they are good at framing issues for the everyday American. One way or another we need to get a tiger team of folks like that to help reshape messaging for the Dems as a whole.

Crockett? You've got to be kidding me.

You might not like the way she communicates, but other people do, and she’s a rocket surgeon compared to anyone in the current administration.

I like her quick wit but she is not palatable for the general public. My money is on Wes Moore.

We don’t have the culture/concern for the well being of others in this country for Democratic Socialism to work. Plus, we’re just too big. It works in some European countries because their populations are a fraction of the US population and mostly one people with a shared history (plus as in Scandinavia, small immigrant populations).

And we’re still too Calvinist— “you deserve xyz because you work hard. And no, YOU over there don’t deserve a free bus ride a la Mamdani because I pay more in taxes and don’t feel like paying for those who don’t work/pay taxes or even go to school to ride the bus for free.

If we can’t agree on free bus fare, forget free tuition, free healthcare, free daycare, UBI…

Unless we can agree everyone deserves a free bus ride, Democratic Socialism will fail here.

It's mainly this. Plus most socialist countries exclude undocumented/illegal residents from universal healthcare, etc.
I would concede to some sort of socialist universal healthcare....BUT only for US Citizens and Legal Residents.

Democrats never renominate someone who ran and lost. Historically speaking, that's the pattern.

Well, that does not technically apply to President Biden.

No national profile. Maybe for VP.

If you have Crockett doing the talking for you then even more moderate democrats are going to jump ship. She appeals to radicals.
But, hey, I don’t have an issue with that as a Republican.

Newsom’s chances have gone up in flames, literally. The memes would be brutal.

Depends on how the LA protests pan out.

Nah. Newsom has so much baggage.
The homelessness issue that he vowed to fix - but has only gotten worse. The budget that was at a surplus and now is at a huge deficit.
The fires. I could go on....
And, then there is this...

He has become a laughing stock. The only one that doesn't realize this is Newsom.

Pritzker just announced he's going to run for 3rd term of Gov again in 2026.

I will concede that she is smart enough to be a showman and use a fake ghetto girl accent. But she has no substance whatsoever. She is shrill and is acting. Which is the new way to get followers.

I watched someone yesterday on CSPAN and I thought she is trying the AOC/Crockett means of getting attention. This clearly is the new way.

I'm the PP who thinks Crockett doesn't stand a chance. But I agree on Wes Moore. I'm mixed on if he should start as a VP candidate. On the one hand, I think that is a solid way to get national visibility. But it's a crap shoot if the Potus is unpopular. Plus, Obama came out of nowhere. He was smart, charismatic, and had a sensible approach that to so many voters.

I sure hope and pray Jasmine Crockett is the Democrat nominee for President in 2028.

On the Republican side of the ledger, I hope liberals are proud of themselves for their smear campaigns on Governor Desantis using vulgar terms like dickweed, dickface, sh*tstain, choad, choad load, and midget-wang and much worse.

If we are have to future elections, unfortunately, it appears he is no longer a contender. Nice work, liberals.

He told Tim Miller he isn’t running. Not sure I believe him though.

"The Truman Show is a 1998 American psychological comedy-drama film depicting Truman Burbank (played by Jim Carrey), a man who is unaware that he is living his entire life on a colossal soundstage, and that it is being filmed and broadcast as a reality television show that has a huge international following. All of his friends, family and members of his community are paid actors whose job it is to sustain the illusion and keep Truman unaware about the false world he inhabits."

Random aside: Matt Gaetz’s house was one of the filming locations for The Truman Show.
