I am a Republican in Chicago and I will admit that Rahm managed the city well. He was obviously the brains behind Obama. I also appreciate that he has gone on conservative radio shows and is willing and able to talk off-the-cuff about whatever they bring up. Kamala's inability to do this is what did her in.

Rahm Emanuel will be closing in on 70 years old by the time 2028 rolls around. Have we not learned our lesson in that regard?

Lastly, the inevitable and unshakable association with Biden is what did in Harris. No Dem nominee had a chance in 2024 after Biden's unprecedented collapse; even if they didn't have the unshakable VP association.

Having no leader is better than having a leader who ruins the election chances of their party's politicians running in down ticket races. Successfully trolling Trump in 2025 is very easy to do. Winning a national election as a politician from California is not. It would take an Obama or Reagan caliber of politician to persevere through the stigma of Californian politicians in our mid-western/blue collar swing states. Newsom simply doesn't have that kind of widespread likability.

Not a bad idea, I love the guy too, real man of the people. But, then no geographic diversity, which is a plus. He should probably fix NYC first.
