This case really stumps me. Doesn't seem like a honor killing given the sister seemed to be regularly socializing/drinking with men in the brother's presence. Doesn't seem to be fully premeditated (as in planned several days before the incident). My best guess is that Nima snapped for whatever reason and then on the spur of the moment decided he was going to kill Bob and grabbed the kitchen knife from his sister's house and lured Bob to his death. In that sense it was premeditated but I don't think he planned this days in advance. Just my 2 cents.

The doctor likely had nothing to do with any of this, picking on him for having the most human reaction seems unkind. The rest are ice cold.

+1. Just a very talented guy who is not the most social. Cimes from a family of surgeons. Adores the wife and even posts about her and her beloved dog regularly on his PROFESSIONAL IG.

Now he'd being publicly humiliated. He's acting as anyone else would--totally mortified and wishing it would all go away.

I can’t get over how Nima full on stabbed Lee to death. The premeditation to get a knife from kitchen, driving in the dark, chasing him out of the car. This wasn’t like an impulse with a gun, this was sooo personal. I almost can’t believe his sister wasn’t part of the decision. Could it be they were actually involved in something worse, like they offered Lee underage girls or something truly terrible and they were trying to cover it up?

Driving him to a dark location with few cameras, all seems premeditated to me.

His lawyer suggested it had nothing to do with the sister. She was not in court, she was on vacation. The court docs all focus on K. So, will have to see what new tale she tries to spin...

A kitchen knife brought in a car also sounds premeditated. You can bet they have checked the other knives in their apartments and recent purchases to see where he got it from. Guy who killed my family member was stupid enough to buy his knife on his debit card in a nearby store.

I’m at a loss for a MOTIVE. It had to be concrete to go thru that many steps and time from idea to execution.

Seems like the doc may want to cut his losses, move on and remarry. Being the notorious cuck is a hard place to be. Her family is toxic and her brother is a killer.

I suspect his lawyer's 'backstory" is going to be trashing the victim.

I think he wanted to silence Bob. There is more to this story than just gold digger let down.

This all sounds very plausible to me. And if Nima is in his 50s, that had to be pressure too. So much was a facade and it was crashing in. He saw Bob as his savior re: $ and contacts and maybe when rage set in, was a "if I can't have money and a career you won't enjoy it either?"

Can you imagine the doctor staying married? Can you imagine if K testifies? He looked like he was falling apart already.

He had prior arrests for knives, I don't think he was afraid of handling them.

I think he was PISSED that Bob was not their new golden goose and possibly he had put the doctor golden goose at risk. He was under a lot of financial pressure and was very jealous of Bob's career and $$$. K was maybe an angry woman scorned who egged him on. I think her 'checking" text was an attempt at an alibi. Bob had so much $$$ and so many connections and he was refusing to use any for N. They had all been drinking a lot and there was the drama in his apartment building the night before. Most of those units are owned, N's is rented. Lots of stress, booze, little sleep and pressure > rage.

N is 38 in the jail records so I think the reports of being much older are incorrect. After the revolution could also mean born after and then left, poorly worded.
