I want to know how much his parents always thought their boy “could do no wrong”.

His fathers dna is the dna on the knife sheath buckle so either he owned the knife, gave it to him or overall points to him having knowledge that his son had this weapon. And his son never having been in the Marines would make you wonder why.

This is NOT correct. His father's DNA was NOT on the knife sheath. They acquired an item with DNA from the trash at the Pennsylvania home. That Pennsylvania DNA belonged to the father of whoever left the DNA on the knife sheath in Idaho.

Exactly. This thread would be half as long if people just read the affidavit. So much misinformation, and "wondering" about things that are included in it. It is available anywhere you search online.

Depersonalization/derealization is horrible. I struggled with it for a period of several months as a young adult after college and the trauma from that time is still with me. I was having daily panic attacks and could not function. Every evening as the sun went down—it was worse at night—I couldn’t do anything except lay in bed and cry.

Depersonalization is horrific. I experienced a few weeks of it following the birth of twins. I also had panic attacks. I was hospitalized and then when I got home I had to be watched 24/7 because drive to step in front of a bus was so strong it was as if I couldn't stop it (i could see myself doing it and felt powerless to stop it). I was terrified. My parents came and watched me and took turns with my husband. I'm actually crying as I type this--it was 16 years ago but still so horrible. I've had no issues since and my twins are now lovely, smart kids and if you knew me you'd think I was a typical high-functioning professional mom in a good marriage. Depersonalization is so scary.

It's crazy how y'all are already convicting this guy before he has a fair trial.

His blood was found at the scene, wrap your little brain around that fact. Bye.

That wasn't in the affidavit. Please read it.

Oh okay, so his phone was at the scene a dozen times in the months leading up to the murders and then at the exact time the murders were being committed, but he was probably just partying there.

Also, keep in mind law enforcement only put out what they had to put out for probable cause to lock his pathetic a.. up. I'm sure the evidence is even stronger at this point and thankfully they are keeping it close to the vest so they can assemble a jury pool and give this fool some semblance of a fair trial. I want the death penalty, by knife, but we know in that liberal blue hell hole of a town he will get life without the possibility of parole. Too good for such a person and no I don't care if he was bullied, or shunned or whatever, he is responsible for the death a four young people, innocent young people. Right now, that's all we know of, there could be others, I guess when he copts a plea, which he will at some point, we'll know that he knows the extent of the evidence gathered against him. I think I remember reading that one of the victim's fathers said it was a very messy crime scene, he was not as careful as someone you might think.

His fathers DNA was used to verify the DNA on the knife sleeve. That is what they meant. The knife sleeve was found by one of the bodies.

is he describing episodes ("out of body") that we associate with schizophrenia?

I’m not even mad it’s just crazy how different the discussions on this crime are on here vs websleuths.

Girl, ain't this the truth. I read the latest Websleuths forum (it was the 58th thread on the case at the time) last night and the quality of discourse over there vs here is way higher and astronomically less self-involved. I find the moderation over there excessive but even so.

Speaking for myself, I dont give a rats ass about the killer. I don't need to or want to figure him out. I don't care if he had a bad childhood, is depressed, uses drugs, loves/hates his parents, is intelligent or not or what he is studying in college. Driving by the murder scene multiple times after the crime says to me he wants attention and notoriety and he's not going to get it from me. He murdered four young people and I hope he gets the death penalty or gets taken out in prison. I hope the victims parents feel that they get/got justice eventually. That's it.

Maybe he drove by multiple times because he was surprised that it had not been reported yet and there was no mention of it on the news or online and he just couldn't believe it that no one had reported it.

His phone was off at the time of the murders. There was no ping at that time.

Yes his phone was turned off for exactly the duration of the murders but was on during the first part of the drive there and the last part of the drive back. His route was reconstructed. And it pinged by the house twelves times in the months leading up to the murders, and the morning after. Together with his dna evidence, car make/model witnessed in the neighborhood that night, and exact physical match to an eyewitness description, just a wild coincidence I'm sure!

I'd hardly call the physical match "exact". And I doubt he's the only person in the world who owns a white Hyundai Elantra.
