Overton is dropping receipts about other schools who are recruiting. I already knew Westfield recruits, but for them to make the allegations against Hayfield when they are doing the same thing doesn’t make sense.
n

Oh please. My kid plays football at WFHS, the kids on the team are not sketchy transfers, just regular neighborhood kids.

When Overton agrees to be interviewed and actually answers questions, let us know.

VHSL found 26 illegit transfers-did this "youtuber" discuss that?

What is WFHS? If you mean Westfield, then that’s a lie. I can’t speak for many of the schools, but I know for a fact that Westfield had kids who lived in Centreville’s zone and South Lakes’ zone playing football.

Then I know another kid, who plays varsity basketball there lives inside of John Champe’s boundaries and Champe is in a different county. The kid from Champe has a younger brother who is also at Westfields on the JV team. Not sure if they play football.

I know the brothers from Champe because my son is friends with them and was at Champe last year with the older one, but transferred to Carroll to play with a better program. We went the private route, but many families find a way to move their kid to another public school to be in a program that will help further develop their kids special interests.

Hayfield didn’t have any kids that weren’t eligible. There were only 14 transfers and one of them didn’t even play football. The jealousy and the hate is unwarranted. These are just kids trying to play a sport.

As a taxpaying citizen of Fairfax County, I don't give a flying about FCPS high school football---what I do care is about the integrity of the school system and fair play, not just in football but in all aspects of the system. Hayfield and its cheating football and the horrowshow it has caused, plus cover-up by administration, is a dark stain on FCPS!

This wasn’t about integrity. This was more about privilege and entitlement.

No, it was the false entitlement of Coach Overton and all around him (who wrongfully believe that white privilege is involved) that broke the overriding more important integrity of the FCPS system---enabled in part by DEI gone amok!

The entitlement is feeling that a Black coach and Black kids aren’t allowed to play by the same rules as a white coach and white kids. The privilege is when high ranking FCPS members violate the Black coaches and players to appease white supremacists in the county that so badly want to stop the program from winning a championship.

Wait, what? So you're ok with a coach doing what he did just because he's black?!?!? If you know of others, report them.

There has been no proof that he violated any rules. All his players were eligible even after the VHSL got involved. They barred the team from the post season because the team had too many transfers. Transfers are allowed and when they investigated the transfers, they were found to be legit.

Everything you just wrote appears to be unequivocally false based on the reporting I've seen.
Can you share where you are getting your facts from? MANY of the transfers were illegitimate

Which is fine in FCPS, if they transferred for courses at Westfield not available at CVHS or SLHS.

Why do people keep repeating the lie that there were "only" 14 transfers? Not sure where that magic number is coming from but the VHSL specifically found that there were *26* football transfers.

That’s not the only interview he’s done either. He’s talking now. Wonder if that means he’s leaving fcps?

Great, please post a link with to an interviewer who is actually asking legit questions.

If they were illegitimate, why would they still allow the kids to compete?

Why are all these illegally recruited for sports players being allowed to participate on winter sports teams like basketball? They should not be allowed to compete on any sports team this year.
Anonymous
Not to mention there were also 4 transfer kids by his own admission that were never allowed to play because their paperwork and situation was too shady to be cleared. I’m not sure how that doesn’t fall back on the coaching staff when the players came from the coaches previous school. Makes all the other transfers look guilty as well.

So when will the families sue the principal who pulled the team playing? The courts said hayfield could play and the court of public opinion has no weight. The kids could have played but the principal withdrew them. Why aren’t the families suing him personally?

I don't begrudge those who are upset, but it isn't everyone. Most Hayfield families I know are happy. I don't know any involved with football though, but do know some marching band parents.

“Pretty much ignored the whole thing”

That says it all.

I'll be quoting from the Fairfax Times article.

The poster doesn't care that

"The Fairfax County Times has documented that FCPS administrators ignored 35 warnings from 19 whistleblowers over nine months."

"Reid said that the team would make sure staff didn’t cross “red lines,” but parents noted that those same staff members were warned repeatedly about “red lines” crossed."

"FCPS staff members and coaches report a culture of fear, intimidation, and retaliation for staff members, coaches, and administrators who call out the wrongdoing. "

"... one of the first whistleblowers in this case was former Hayfield Director of Student Services Erin Crowley, a Hayfield graduate whose professional goal was to serve students at her alma mater. When she expressed concerns about the sudden influx of transfers to school administrators this past spring, FCPS Assistant Superintendent Michelle Boyd and Thompson transferred Crowley to Annandale High School in an involuntary job swap with Annandale’s director of student services, Erik Healey. "

There is so much more to this. The superintendent needs to go.

I hope Erin sues the pants off them.

What they did to her was absolutely disgusting. I don't live in FFX anymore, don't know any of these people, and am angry as all get out over this. I can not fathom doing what they did to a dedicated employee in the name of winning a state football title. This makes me hate high school sports.

Everyone involved in this illegal act of retaliation is garbage and should be fired.

Shut the dei crap. This embarrassing situation was completely the fault of corrupt school administrators who have no values and no place being in positions of authority in a school system. That no one has been fired tells us all we need to know.

Where is the school board in this mess? Asleep?

What a dishonest, manipulative post.

The Black coach certainly played by his own rules and did whatever he wanted to do and violated the rules. You keep lying to yourself. You and your bunch of crazy circus clowns believe that all everyone should care about is winning a state championship. In the big scheme of things, it is embarrassing that people are willing to cheat, lie, fake things to that end. It's pathetic. You need therapy. You need to get a life.
