s/o What happened to Natalie Holloway?

This case was such a mess. Was it ever fully confirmed what happened to her?

I find this one to be pretty easy. She was killed by Joran, who took her body out to sea.

Joran van der Sloot almost certainly killed her. He murdered another girl 5 years later in Peru, was caught, pled guilty, and is now in prison.

And, 9:53, you're disgusting.

Yep. Sad case but it seems very likely this is what happened.

So she deserved to die because she had some fun on a tropical island?
there are an awful lot of ways to have fun without getting shit faced. Pretty sad that you don't know that. Alcohol causes billions of dollars in injuries, lost wages, destroyed families and lives, property damage, abuse and so much more. But hey, it's all good. They're just having some fun. Tell that to the people who are dead or maimed.

Agree with all of this - it's sad she'll never be found, but I don't think what happened is really a mystery. Nor was it her fault.

Agreed on all counts.

9:53 and 10:03, you should be ashamed of yourself, blaming the victim.

Classic victim blaming.

You just called a young woman who was most likely kidnapped, raped, and murdered a "dumb girl."

Sure. ALCOHOL is the real problem in this situation, not a psycho who likes killing women, destroying families, etc.

PP didn't say Natalie deserved to die. Nobody is blaming the victim for her awful demise. However, someone didn't care if she deserved it or not. He took advantage of her fun-on-a-tropical-island condition. He didn't get the message about how rude and mean it is to do that. Maybe he got the message and just ignored it.

So if you decide to have fun by getting drunk, please remember the gamble you are taking. Not all people are nice and mannerly; some may not play fair.

I think the biggest question is how he disposed of the body. Did he have a boat? Toss her off a cliff? They were in a fairly busy resort area of the beach, so I just don't know how he removed the body without it washing up on shore.

exactly. it is NOT victim blaming to point out that getting drunk has risks.

It's not victim blaming to point out that getting drunk has risks. The original PP's statement, however, was "Dumb girl got drunk" which is clearly victim blaming.

It is, actually. That is the definition of victim blaming.
