s/o What happened to Natalie Holloway?

He didn't make sure she was alive or dead, just took her limp body out and dumped it.

I do remember hearing on Dateline or one of those shows that this is what happened. She may have been alive, just unconscious, when he dumped her overboard.

No one is blaming the victim. It's not blaming to say that you're probably safer if sober and not drunk. That's true in all kinds of circumstances, unless you can completely trust the person(s) you're hanging out with.

Dude, please shut the f#ck up. The point of this thread is to talk about facts of the case. If you can't contribute to that, see your ass out of this thread.

I do think the brothers know more than they admitted. Not sure if they were involved in the actual crime though. Joran and his dad definitely tried to exercise their white colonial privilege and "pin it on the black guys."

Please stick to the facts of the case. Your conjecture doesn't count.

Jordan got her drunk, either raped or bad consensual sex with her. He killed her, and dumped her body at sea.

His father, a judge, helped him cover it up.

I have family from Aruba. At first people thought she was sold as a sex slave to Colombians. A gringo sex slave = gold in south and central America. But the rewards for her were high enough that someone would have squealed by now. So that theory is out.

Now many people there believe she was killed (by Joran) and buried at a construction site. A resort hotel specifically. Lots of new developments were being built at the time. They believe this because throwing her in the ocean would have been too risky. They also Joran's father's status helped him during the investigation. They believe the father's guilt eventually led to his early death.

There were date rape drugs found after the girl in Peru was murdered. I don't think drinking matters much if you're drugged. You can drink only a soda and get drugged.

I don't believe Natalie was simply dumped. The other woman was brutally beaten, for what appears to be no real reason.

So she deserved to die because she had some fun on a tropical island?
there are an awful lot of ways to have fun without getting shit faced. Pretty sad that you don't know that. Alcohol causes billions of dollars in injuries, lost wages, destroyed families and lives, property damage, abuse and so much more. But hey, it's all good. They're just having some fun. Tell that to the people who are dead or maimed.

You failed to answer the question.

I think she got drunk. Consented to sex. Something went wrong asthma attack , seizure etc and she went in to cardiac arrest and Joran dumped her.

Joran van der Sloot killed her. Whether it was on purpose or by accident we may never know. But he definitely did it. That, or him being a verified murderer and trying to extort her parents is the biggest coincidence ever.

The Kalpoe brothers. No

I doubt it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they either know what happened or were involved in the cover up (i.e. Lying to the police.)

The guy was a repeat murderer. Being drunk wasn't going to change that.

Body was never found because I don't think until the US was involved - too late - it was really searched for.

All the dots lined up to that Dutch rich kid, and then he ended up doing it again - got caught on video going into a young woman's hotel room, she died in there, got caught coming out. He is in prison for life - and not a great prison from what I understand. Also his dad had died so his influence couldn't help him at that point.

Joran has a wife or girlfriend. He has a young child. The jail allows sex.

He also got critically injured in a knife fight while there. But please plan your second honeymoon in a jail in Peru, for the sex and all.

Not true - he'll be out in 20 years.

Yes, he got a total of 28 years. Still, not a great life. Most of his 20s and all of his 30s and 40s in jail. Out at age 51 if he lives that long. He has already been brutally beaten.

PP didn't say Natalie deserved to die. Nobody is blaming the victim for her awful demise. However, someone didn't care if she deserved it or not. He took advantage of her fun-on-a-tropical-island condition. He didn't get the message about how rude and mean it is to do that. Maybe he got the message and just ignored it.

So if you decide to have fun by getting drunk, please remember the gamble you are taking. Not all people are nice and mannerly; some may not play fair.

Of course not, bit getting drunk is incredibly stupid, especially in unfamiliar territory.
