In SURF College Cup 2011 age group for example there were ECNL teams and MLS AD teams (Academy division - MLS 2). No actual MLS Next HG (top division teams). In one half of the bracket the MLS2 teams prevailed, and on the other half the ECNL teams prevailed. Same thing with 2010. Big deal - these are not MLS Next 1 teams losing to ECNL. https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/4014/standings/33985 AND https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/4014/standings/33980 |
| What does the Adam's apple have to do with anything? just curious. |
What club? For our club they told us MLS Next (HG at least) requires all of the measurements and the photo to be submitted and late developers to be approved by the league. Maybe MLS2 is more lenient? I'm not familiar with them. |
It indicates that puberty has occurred and certain levels of testosterone are present. So a kid is generally not a late developer if the Adam's apple is present. So many people hate the biobanding concept because it does generally take minutes from other kids but there really are checks and balances. It's not arbitrary who qualifies. Our U15 team had 2 gets get rejected by the league and they weren't allowed to bioband to U14 this year as a result. |
In Texas MLS1 teams lose to ECNL and ECNL RL teams all of the time. |
| So Adam's apple is the end stage of puberty? |
MLS Next HG lost to ECNL RL teams in Copa Rayados Internacional:https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/44447/schedules?group=387879 |
MLSN teams in Texas are not even close to ECNL teams. Texas and California, ECNL is king. We know boys playing on MLSN HG teams in Houston that couldn't even make an HTX RL team, but they're having fun! Enjoying playing soccer, developing as players. So really who cares? Personally I think playing on a MLSN HG team as opposed to an ECNL RL team and because of that missing ourt on the joy and camaraderie that is texas high school soccer is silly but to each other own! The only thing thats laughable is the idea that MLS P2P clubs in Texas is somehow a better path to a professional academy. We see kids every year go from all kinds of teams into the professional academies, as well as get cut form those same academies and come back to ECNL teams. No age group change is going to change any of that. |
fyi, Albion Elite 2010 is the top players from all Albion clubs, including MLS1. The 1st team is at the bottom of the 2010 group. The 2nd 2010 team tied the Surf ECNL 2011 team that plays up. The MLS2 teams that top the bracket is actually from the MLS2 only club and they beat Barca Academy MLS2 team 9:0, so they are actually MLS1 level if the club can get MLS1 status. |
Surf’s 2011 ECNL team is just average in their own age group, but they played up one year and tied Albion’s eilite team with 2010 MLS squad. So anyone saying P2P MLS is better than ECNL is talking nonsense. |
Give it some time + Boys ECNL is not top in socal. MLSN2 is simply a clone of ECNL boys now that its completely seperate from MLS and SY. It will compete in the 2nd tier boys market for players. |
You are talking nonsense without any fact, so your IQ must be low. |
RL is already team based? Or at least my daughter’s RL league is. We do not travel as a club. From what I understood was most RL teams do this as well if they do not have an ECNL team and RL is their highest level. With that said my director told us many clubs will be pulled up into “ECNL” next year because they are having a team based ECNL league. Those teams will be allowed at showcases with the club based ECNL teams. |
Bingo! It is a fact that ECRL already has a team based league. E.g, in ECRL NorCal for boys. some boys teams plays both MLSN2 and ECRL leagues. And seems it would become true that there would be team based ECNL soon |
You're moving the goalposts. ECRL teams playing in a single ECNL showcase event is doable for coaches because eveyone is at the same location. If you had a league that was team based it would be impossible for coaches to coach multiple teams. Which would mean either coaches make less money or parents pay much more money to have a single coach thats dedicated to their team. |
