ECNL moving to school year part 2

What Colorado Rapis said is nonsense. But its their club and they can choose to do what they like.

Leagues allow playing up without any restrictions.

Biobanding works with MLS because they are acadamies. Allowing play downs in p2p leagues will bankrupt multiple clubs. Nobody wants to play against a cheater 3 years older then they are.

Don't worry I see it as well.

Just throwing this out there but how does the u15, u16, u17 naming convention work when players are allowed to play down?

Maybe something like u15+2, u16+2, u17+2? Or does u15 become u17, u16 become u18, u17 become u19, etc?

Hahahahaha I never thought about that.

Allowing players 1-2 years older to play down is the same thing as forcing younger players play 1-2 years up.

Stop commenting to yourself.
They’d call it 2027, 2028, 2029s….
Or like MLSN just call it the age group it is but allow the players in the same grade to join the group for showcases.
MLSN doesn’t change the name of its ages based of biobanding players joining the group.

So to accommodate play downs leagues will just stop using the u16 u17 u18 etc system and start using GRADUATING YEAR?

Hahahahaha

But you are the guy trying to tell people that graduating year aka grade in school doesnt exist in club soccer. I guess it does exist when you want play downs to be involved.

The hypocrisy is off the charts

The age guy is so ridiculous

He wants to allow 1 to 2 years older play downs which basically forces everyone else to play up against 1 to 2 year older players. But he uses RAE when Aug birthdays are 1-2 months outside of a made up 12 month eligibility window play up.

So dishonest and 100% weasel.
Who said they wanted kids to be able to bioband down 2 years?

Want all you want but the rules are 8/1 - 7/31 for an age group.

Seems like they are going Gy for showcases to keep you happy though.

I'm happy with SY and aug birthdays playing up so all players are the same grade during games.

Age guy is trying to start the rumor again that leagues will do GY showcases. Schools limit holdbacks to 2 years. So what will happen if GY showcases occur is the oldest players will be 36 months older then the youngest.

Which do you think is more fair if you had to do somehting that makes all players the same grade during games? SY with at most a 14 month variance or GY with a 36 month player birthday variance?

Also the rule isn't 8/1-7/31 its 8/1 and younger because leagues allow players to play up.

You wouldnt call it 8/1-7/31 if older players were allowed to play down. Maybe 8/1 and 2 years older?

Soccer's goal isn't to make you happy. Leagues said 8/1, clubs around here limiting playing up for the best. Grade is your thing, not there's. You don't have to be happy.

That would make Age Guy all the sane logical people who live in reality

There is a age based calendar system using month and year

There is no system or league designation or grouping using school grade

August kids will play according to their age bracket like everyone else.
Why would 8/1 to 7/31 apply to all birth months except August?

It may be time for you to seek 3rd party mental help

Is "Age Guy" the leagues?

Because they are going by age, DOB, month and year

I dont know what age guy is. All I know is that he tries to start GY showcase rumors, tries to convince Aug birthday parents to play their kid down, and he irrationally says that grade doesnt exist when it does.
This amalgamation of age guy sounds like the leagues and clubs. Others are telling you what is happening and you get angry suggesting that they are starting their wants. They are not.

You are the only one with a goal, force grade year into youth soccer. Everyone else is telling you like it is.

another club stepping up and addressing the Aug birthday issue. This one's a little confusing because players are allowed to stay with their BY team or "play down" on their correct grade in school SY team.

Children born August 1st – December 31st have the option of staying with their current age group, or moving to their new age group based on the criteria below.
Children born August 1st – September 30th will be able to stay with their classmate’s age group regardless of which team they make (can make A team (Black), B team (Red), C team (White). This applies to both current SWSA travel players and new SWSA travel players.
This will allow children to stay with their grade level based on the school districts age groups.
For this upcoming year’s tryouts ONLY (Dates TBD) they have the option of trying out for both their current and new age groups if they choose to do so. In order to do that they would need to try out at least once for both age groups at tryouts.
If a player decides to move down to their new age group, then they will become part of the new age group going forward.
Children born October 1st – December 31st will need to make the “A” team of their current age group if they choose to stay in that age group.
In order to do that they would need to try out at least once for both age groups they qualify for at tryouts.
Current SWSA travel players will NOT need board approval to try out for their current age group.
Any player that is NOT currently on a SWSA travel team will need to follow the new age group format in the club run tryout model which is that they are allowed to try out 1 age group up ONLY with board approval.
In both conditions listed above if the child does not make the top half of the “A” team in the current age group, then they would move to their new age group.
