Explain to me how that would work.

The reason leagues are club based not team based is so a single coach can coach multiple age groups. This is also why a club plays one other club each week in league. It allows one coach to have multiple teams. They just stay at the same field all day representing multiple teams from their club.

If leagues were team based each team would need to have its own coach. Which would quadruple the costs for clubs and for each team. It would also make scheduling a nightmare.

RL is already team based? Or at least my daughter’s RL league is. We do not travel as a club. From what I understood was most RL teams do this as well if they do not have an ECNL team and RL is their highest level.

With that said my director told us many clubs will be pulled up into “ECNL” next year because they are having a team based ECNL league. Those teams will be allowed at showcases with the club based ECNL teams.[/quote]
You're moving the goalposts.

ECRL teams playing in a single ECNL showcase event is doable for coaches because eveyone is at the same location.

If you had a league that was team based it would be impossible for coaches to coach multiple teams. Which would mean either coaches make less money or parents pay much more money to have a single coach thats dedicated to their team. [/quote]
