You are in luck. Here is his Mirandized statement: https://www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/1548106/download |
Do you doubt that the charging documents accurately convey DePape’s story or have you not had a chance to them yet? An excerpt is posted above. |
Another GOP nut, whipped into a frenzy by the GOP’s irresponsible goading. “ DEPAPE stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her. If Nancy were to tell DEPAPE the “truth,” he would let her go, and if she “lied,” he was going to break “her kneecaps.” DEPAPE was certain that Nancy would not have told the “truth.” In the course of the interview, DEPAPE articulated he viewed Nancy as the “leader of the pack” of lies told by the Democratic Party. DEPAPE also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions. DEPAPE also explained generally that he wanted to use Nancy to lure another individual to DEPAPE.” I wonder who Speaker Pelosi was the lure for? |
These are his statements as recorded by federal agents, crazy. |
His testimony from his own mouth is out for you to read, how will you move the goalposts now? |
DP — To be clear it is not a transcription. However, I believe the FBI agent who prepared the statement document was honest and accurate. |
True and they rarely or never acknowledge they were wrong, particularly on this forum. I remember the dogged right-winger/troll on this forum last year who repeatedly questioned the facts on the Mark Meadows voter fraud scandal, even as if the facts were all coming in and were not in Meadow's favor. I see the same technique at work here--repeatedly question the veracity of the facts of the Pelosi attack in order to muddy the waters. I can't tell anymore if people who do this are trolls, true Republican believers, or paid operatives. |
It's just so predictable. And sad. And pathetic. |
Guy sounds sane:
DEPAPE stated he wanted to tie Pelosi up so that DEPAPE could go to sleep as he was tired from having had to carry a backpack to the Pelosi residence. |
|
So my understanding from that statement was after Pelosi let the police in, he ran over to disarm Depape rather than leaving the house? What? He's at the door with the police? Why go to disarm Depape?
Makes no sense, but this is Depape's statement and the man is mentally ill. |

I’ve spent today trying to find mental health resources for several criminal defense clients who are experiencing psychosis. There is nothing available in my state. Reading through this thread, it almost feels like the lack of available MH help is intentional.
If people run around untreated, lapping up conspiracy theories and violent calls to action, the GOP can deny any responsibility when the followers shoot up schools or assault lawmakers’ family members (it’s a mental health problem! not a gun problem! Not a political problem! Not because we traffic in conspiracy!). After all the fruitless searches today, and the constant cuts to services, it does seem intentional. |
That’s nice. I’ll still wait to see him say it on a witness stand in a courtroom, preferably on-camera, before I give anything any merit. |
The FBI typically doesn’t record and transcribe interviews. Agents take notes from which the prepare a “302” summary. |
Clearly Pelosi was drunk and his skirt was too short. He was asking for it, he shouldn’t have been walking home alone, his decisions are suspect and he should have known better than to try to get the weapon away. |
| He lived in the garage at Richmond Street. The guy was essentially homeless. |
