“The attack was not random”. What kind of animal beats an 82 year old spouse of a political rival with a hammer? A maggot.

The modern GOP.

Either you are fine with it, or you vote against it.

Sadly...

What are you going to do when it is revealed that the perp is some deranged homeless person high on all of the legalized drugs SF allows?

It's almost as if we should wait for the facts to come out.

The assault will give pause to all sorts of Democrats in Congress who think, if this could happen in a Democratic Speaker's home, then what could happen to any of us. You'll get Democrat representatives being less aggressive in Congress, Democrats less willing to run for Congress, Democrats less willing to volunteer for political campaigns, and Democrats less willing to vote.

The cost to political participation then for Democrats will be higher than for Republicans, who are far less likely to face any of these things. Yes, Steve Scalise says hi, but the one crazy person going after him is the exception that proves the rule.

What an idiotic post. Truly.
Look back over the past few years and just think for a minute.

Rand Paul. Lee Zeldin. Just recently - a staffer for Rubio.
Then, there is the aborted assassination on Kavanaugh.
Then of course, Steve Scalise and all the other Republicans who were targeted on the baseball field.
Tell us you didn't really think before you posted.

So you are saying this is no big deal because Rand Paul was beaten by his neighbor. Okay.

It’s almost as if the facts that have already come out indicate that their house was targeted, so not a deranged homeless person.

Lib here, disagree. Hate news and fear mongering is causing crazy attacks, on the left and the right. Don't be like my R parents who point to every Scalise or Zeldin one off and insist it "proves" the libs are coming for them. Recognize this is a "both sides" phenom.

We are all furious and all terrified and a few crazies are going to act out.

Gretchen Whitmer also says hello.

Yeah Rand Paul was personal, not political. Wasn't it a bush on the property line that pushed the two over the edge?

Paul’s was a neighbor dispute. Zeldin’s was a deranged veteran who had no idea who Zeldin was. The Rubio canvasser thing wasn’t political, just wrong place at wrong time. Kavanaugh story was helpful at the time but wasn’t true. Scalise as PP said was exception that proves the rule.

Fact is, it’s smart to be a Republican. Safer.

Whose heart doesn’t bleed for the suffering of the violent Proud Boy on the payroll of the Florida GOP? It’s not like Rubio bothered to fact check anything before exploiting a poor neo-Nazi.

Unless you’re Mike Pence and a mob is trying to lynch you. Or you’re Josh Hawley running for your life. Or the rest of the feckless Republicans in Congress cowering in fear of Trump tweeting something mean about them.
