Sounds like previous pp wants to express his/her opinion about proselytizing, which is a valid reason to open and comment on any thread. |
PP wasn’t talking about proselytizing - just my use of the word. PP is triggered to hear that missionaries proselytize. |
|
For example, PP can watch this video and then perform some crazy mental gymnastics to claim there was no proselytizing.
"I was in the waiting room and my daughter was having surgery for four hours. SP's staff shared the Gospel with me. That's when I heard about Jesus Christ. I received Jesus Christ as my savior on the day my daughter had surgery in the Cayman Islands. ... I know that Jesus healed my daughter's heart." |
| So we're all agreed then, missionaries Do proselytize? |
So do people who are not missionaries |
That only took 39 pages to come to a consensus.
Now the big question...is it ethical to pitch Jesus to someone while you are helping them through a major life crisis? |
You and your sock puppet posting the dreaded laughing emoticon and saying a consensus has been reached is pathetic. How about get off your computer and put some skin on the game? |
No, and nobody cares what you think. Missionaries are all around the world right now helping people in need while you are whining about them. |
No, not all missionaries proselytize. I’m not a huge fan of the missionaries that DO proselytize, but you can’t pretend the people who posted earlier about NOT proselytizing and just doing the work don’t exist. That’s just dishonest. Also, there’s a huge difference in how proselytizing is done. Is it “convert or your kid dies” or “you asked about that Bible over there, let me answer.” Same difference as the stupid insistence that “share” always means forcible. Spin is always transparent and obvious. You shouldn’t think you can get away with it. |
Agree about the emoticon poster. Wonder if that’s a result of all the wine she drinks while lecturing to us from her sofa. |
So that's a yes? |
Prove to us that the Mongolian mom didn’t ask about the missionaries faith, and they were simply answering. You can’t. What amazes me is that mom spent weeks with the missionaries, in Mongolia, on the plane, and then in the Cayman Islands, before they finally told her about Jesus. They must be piss-poor missionaries. |
Literally nobody said all missionaries proselytize.
|
9:49 above said it. No “some” or “certain” in this little gem of a failed spin attempt. “So we're all agreed then, missionaries Do proselytize?“ |
| Sex tourism is unethical. Predominately men from western countries visiting 3rd world countries and buying a child for sex is what should be banned. |
