you know that there have been muslim & buddhist missionaries in the United States for at least 100 years? A lot of religious people, based on no evidence, believe the their religion will alleviate the suffering of the world and that is why they want to teach people about a new way to live their life. Is this a tiny bit arrogant, especially considering that their own societies are full of suffering, yes.. but pretty much all faiths do this. Its the exploitative practices of western missionaries and the links to colonial brutality that should be called out and made illegal but there is plenty of brutality in those communities coming from other forms pf capitalism. I say other forms b/c christian missionaries are just another arm of western capitalism and market development.

Missionaries are a kind of terrorist, in my opinion. If you're doing 1000% aid work (that is solicited and wanted) with 0% religion and ideological influence, then ok.

But missionaries cause far more harm than good. They are overwhelmingly selfish, sh!tty, destructive and dangerous people imho.
